The Belmont Bruins got into the event as a No. 11 seed, while the Racers 19-20 Predicted Order of Finish werea No. 12 seed. Before last season, the last time 1. Belmont (17 1st place votes) 237pt the OVC got two teams in the fi eld was in 1987. 2. Murray State (7) 223 Austin Peay upset Illinois and Middle Tennessee 3. Jacksonville State 187 lost a close game to Notre Dame. APSU lost in OT 4. Austin Peay 180 in their second round game against Providence and 5. UT Martin 154 just missed going to the Sweet 16. 6. Billy Kennedy (2010-11), Steve Prohm (2011-12) and Matt McMahon (2015-19). Combined, the Racers were 117-19 RRECENTECENT OOVCVC CCHAMPIONSHAMPIONS on the fl oor for a winning average of 85 percent and in OVC home play, the Racers were 63-12 with a winning rate of 84 percent. The longest win streak the Racers in which all games were played on this court, was 18 in a Season Reg. Rec Tournament row from January 2011 to February 2012. The Racers won fi ve OVC regular season championships on this fl oor 2001-02 Tenn. Tech 13-3 Murray State and that led to them going on to win three OVC Tournament titles and advancing to three NCAA Tournament 2002-03 APSU/MOR 13-3 Austin Peay appearances in 2012, 2018 and 2019. The Racers also had two big seasons on the fl oor that didn’t include 2003-04 Austin Peay 16-0 Murray State going to the NCAAs. In 2014, the Racers won the College Insider Tournament (CIT) with four wins on the court 2004-05 Tenn. Tech 12-4 E. Kentucky as lone senior Dexter Fields was sent out as a champion. In 2015, the Racers had an OVC record 25-game 2005-06 Murray State 17-3 Murray State overall winning streak and ended up hosting and defeating UTEP to eventually advance to the quarterfi nals 2006-07 Austin Peay 16-4 E. Kentucky of the National Invitation Tournament (NIT). The number of great Racer players to compete on the court is 2007-08 Austin Peay 16-4 Austin Peay also impressive. There were three OVC Player of the Year and All-America selections: Isaiah Canaan (2012), 2008-09 UT Martin 14-4 Morehead St. Cameron Payne (2015) and Ja Morant (2019). This trio also became NBA Draft picks.
