They last for 30 days, and of course include the couple's most recent individual events, Lemonade and 4:44. TIDAL doesn't work quite like iTunes; it's more similar to Spotify when it comes to downloading tracks for listening to when you're offline. So it can be a little confusing to figure out exactly how to ensure that you have access to Everything Is Love even when you're outside of good WiFi range. Well, the site WhatHiFi.com explains how to make your TIDAL library available offline. Here's how to get your Carters on the go: Using the mobile app, go to the Everything Is Love album. Tap the dots next to each track, one by one, and select "Add To Playlist." Once you're done adding every song, head over to the My Music section of the app, and you should see all the tracks there. Then toggle the slider to download to your offline queue. Now, when you open up your Offline Content section, you should see the entire record. Now those tracks are available on your device all the time, even when the flight attendants ask you to switch on airplane mode. There is a chance that Everything Is Love may become available on iTunes at a later date, as Bey's Lemonade eventually did. But there's no information out about that as of yet, and Apple did not respond to Bustle's request for comment. Anyone can visit TIDAL's website to hear 30 second excerpts of every song on Everything Is Love : "Summer," "Apesh*t," "Boss," "Nice," "713," "Friends," "Heard About Us," "Black Effect," and "LoveHappy." And along with the album drop, the pair also dropped a surprise music video for "Apesh*t," which is fortunately (and benevolently, on the king and queen's part) available to watch on YouTube. While this current project lives on a cloud of renewed trust through forgiveness, it is still fresh in our mind the first gauntlet that was thrown by Beyonce through her hallmark Lemonade project, ​ ​ and its effect on our perception of The Carters and their place in our culture. Renowned as an aesthetic and cultural tour de force, Beyoncé’s visual album, Lemonade is an ​ ​ exposition of the emotional hardships women undergo in romantic relationships. The pop culture relevance of Lemonade is rooted in its ability to give rhetorical form to the experiences of ​ ​ women in relationships, thus validating and supporting these experiences. Specifically, Beyoncé shows the struggle for power and respect that often takes place in heterosexual romantic relationships is rooted in a patriarchal model of love and romance. In this article I briefly analyze several poems from Lemonade that most saliently display its ​ ​ themes of love, womanhood, and the struggle for power and respect in relationships. To supplement my analysis I reference Bell Hooks’s book, All About Love, because of its explicit ​ ​ discussion of the shifting state of power within male/female romantic relationships.

To do so, I provide both a neo-Aristotelian and biographical criticism of three songs from ye (2018) by Kanye West. Chapters 1 & 2 consider Roland Barthes’ The Death of the Author and other landmark papers in rhetorical and literary theory to develop an intrinsic and extrinsic approach to criticizing ye (2018), evident in Tables 1 & 2. Chapter 3 provides the biographical antecedents of West’s life prior to the release of ye (2018). Chapters 4, 5, & 6 supply intrinsic (neo-Aristotelian) and extrinsic (biographical) critiques of the selected artifacts. Each of these chapters aims to address the concerns of one of three guiding questions: which critical approaches prove most useful to the hip-hop consumer listening to this song? How can and should the listener construct meaning? Are there any improper ways to critique and interpret this song? Chapter 7 discusses the variance in each mode of critical analysis from Chapters 4, 5, & 6.

    Everlore: Two Albums that Accurately Portray the Melancholic Mood of a Pandemic By Jannie Gowdy, 12 When I was seven years old, my mom took me to a Taylor Swift concert in Des Moines. I was obsessed with the artist, and I showed up with a paper guitar and my favorite dress on, elated that I was going to finally see my role model perform. My greatest hope was fulfilled: Taylor put on a phenomenal show, gliding over the audience and displaying her powerful vocals. I left there holding her in the highest regard. Over the course of her career, I followed her albums as she went from one era to the next, loving every style change. After all, Taylor Swift is the queen of evolving her discography. She started out with country roots in her debut album, Fearless, and Speak Now, and progressed to pop in Red and 1989. While her next two albums, Reputation and Lover, are also categorized as pop albums as well, they each have a very unique tone displayed by differing characteristics. Reputation’s electro-backing and musical mixing songs are powerful and fierce, while Lover contrasted sharply with softer instrumentals and a self-discovery theme. While Swift’s style is characterized by more specific ‘eras’ and there is always fan speculation about her next era, no one expected her to go the route of indie-folk music. On July 23rd, Swift announced n social media platforms that her eighth album would be dropping at midnight. She wrote in an accompanying statement, "Before this year I probably would’ve overthought when to release this music at the ‘perfect’ time, but the times we’re living in keep reminding me that nothing is guaranteed." She went on to say, "My gut is telling me that if you make something you love, you should just put it out into the world.” The sixteen songs she released (later releasing “The Lakes” as a bonus track) incorporated bleak and soft themes, reflecting life during the pandemic.
