Running from Wednesday, October 5, for five days at the Forest Recreation Ground, the Goose Fair is once again set to attract tens of thousands of extra visitors to the city. Stephanie Moss-Pearce, NET’s Assistant Marketing Manager, explained: “With frequent and direct services from across the city and The Forest tram stop directly at the event’s doorstop, our network provides the best way of travelling to and from The Goose Fair. “Tram users can ensure they make the most of their trip to the fair, without the worry of getting stuck in traffic or having the hassle of finding somewhere to park.” NET’s specially discounted Group Ticket will also be available for families and friends heading to the fair together. Priced at just £5 and available from all tram stop ticket machines, the Group Ticket offers unlimited tram travel for two adults, or two adults and up to three children, and is available from tram stop ticket machines from 4pm on weekdays and all day at the weekend. EXPANDED NETWORK CELEBRATES FIRST ‘TRAMIVERSARY’ The end of August saw us celebrate the first anniversary of the opening of the new lines to Clifton and Toton. It marked 12 months since the network expanded to stretch 32km across Nottingham, providing 28 additional stops and linking the system to major destinations such as the Queen’s Medical Centre, the University of Nottingham as well as Beeston and Clifton. NET’s General Manager, Paul Robinson, said: “We’re delighted to have notched up our first year of operations and the reaction of Nottingham people has been fantastic.” “Passenger numbers are growing month on month and the expanded network is already an essential part of Nottingham’s public transport offer. Our aim from day one has been to deliver a world class tram network for the city and we know there are many parts of the country which are envious about what we have here.” “We are most proud of a recent independent passenger survey that gave us a 98% customer satisfaction rating – a figure which outstrips other tram systems in the U K.” www.thetram.net What’s In and around around the City n this month England v Estonia September 15th, Meadow Lane England Women’s final home UEFA Euro 2017 qualifier will be played at Notts County’s Meadow Lane.
