1. Rules This is a pursuit race. The event will be governed by the Racing Rules of , WKSC General Sailing Instructions and these Sailing Instructions. 2. Boats Eligible to Race The race is open to all boats with an RYA recognised PN <1210 plus West Kirby Stars, Hilbres, Falcons, Limbo 6.6s, International ODs and International Canoe Slurp ODs. 3. Race Area & Duration of the Race Racing will take place on the Dee Estuary. The duration of the race will be as near to 90 minutes as practicable. 4. Changes to Sailing Instructions Any changes to the sailing instructions will be indicated by flying flag “L” at least 30 minutes before the warning signal of the race. The flag may be flown from the WKSC clubhouse or the Race Committee Boat, as appropriate. The changes may be posted in the club house or verbally on the water. 5. Starting & Finishing i) The Race Committee Boat will be Th’Ark flying the WKSC burgee. ii) The starting line will be between the orange pole on the Committee Boat and the orange Start iii) The finishing line will be one of the following: (a) Between 2 RIBs flying blue flags hoisted at approximately 89 minutes from the first start. The two RIBs will be motoring ahead of the leading boat; or (b) between a boat flying a blue flag and a pink mark. This will be laid ahead of the leading boat as near to 90 minutes as practicable. iv) At 85 minutes from the first start a horn will be sounded 6 Course i) The course will be A or B as per the attached Jubilee Pursuit Race Course Card. ii) Course A will use 3 orange pillar buoys as marks of the course as shown on the Course Card. Course B will use WKSC tidal marks and the course will be displayed on the Race Committee Boat. iii) Any number of rounds may be sailed. 7 Starting Signals Code Flag W will be flown 5 minutes before the first start. Races will be started using Rule 26 for the first start amended as follows: At the one minute signal the preparatory flag will be left flying until the last start as designated on the attached schedule of starting times. At each start a sound signal will be made and the start number for the next start displayed. 8. Scoring (i) The first boat to pass through the finishing line in the direction from the last mark will be deemed the winner and so on. (ii) The object of this Pursuit Race is to last for 90 minutes. To help achieve this object, if the 2 RIB finish shown in SI 5(iii)(a) is selected, after the leading boat has crossed the finishing line, the RIBs will turn and proceed back down the course recording finishing positions. (iii) Any boat not finishing within 30 minutes of the leading boat will be deemed to have retired. (iv) If after laying the finish line the leading boat does not cross within 10 minutes the race will be deemed abandoned. 9. Prizes The Jubilee Cup will be awarded to the winner of the race at the Annual Prizegiving.

Course A: Mark 1 (Port); Mark 2 (Port); Mark 3 (Port). Pass between the Committee Boat (Starboard) and the Start Mark (Port) in the direction of Mark 1. Any number of rounds may be sailed.

COURSE B The marks to be rounded will be displayed on the side of the Committee Boat. Red (to be left to Port) Green (to be left to starboard). Read courses from left to right. Any number of rounds may be sailed.
