What this doesn't show is the many, many times when a hit was needed, Ron came through, when a fly ball was needed to the outfield, Ron came through, when a ground ball was needed to move a runner, Ron came through. One of the truly great pitchers to play in the Inter-County, Jon could move into 4th place in career wins and 5th place in career strike-outs this season. Jon's career ERA of .323 is exceptional when you consider the dramatic rise in averages since the aluminum bat. Another stat young pitchers can take a lesson from is his walks to strike out ratio, 452 k's to only 186 walks. MATT GOODING - LF/RF He's entering his 13th 1-C season and 2nd with the Majors. Matt is one of the top 10 hitters of the modem era to play in this great league. He owns a .374 lifetime average after a .395 year last summer. Last year's 81~ playoffs saw him chip il).with a .435 average. When Matt gets his 26th hit this summer, it will make him the fastest I player to get 500 hits. His defensive skills are on the ' ' f same level of excellence.
