2018 NADA Jahresbericht EN The foundation National Anti Doping Agency of Germany (NADA) is the relevant institution for clean sport in Germany. It works nationally and internationally to promote fairness, transparency and equal opportunities for all athletes. Its tasks comprise implementation of a standardised testing programme for Germany, execution of education and doping preven- tion measures, issuing Therapeutic Use Exemptions and answering medical inquiries, providing legal advice for federa- tions and athletes, as well as international cooperation. NADA thus essentially contributes to preserving value in sports. In July 2002, NADA was founded with a festive act in the Old City Hall of Bonn and has been recognised by the foundati- on supervisory authority on 21st November in the same year. Since then, it has been pursuing its valuable mission and supports the athletes who honestly pursue their sport. As a non-profit foundation under public law, financed according to the stakeholder model, it is an independent body. NADA opposes doping in sports nationally and internationally alike. For the future of sport. For Germany as a sport nation. For clean athletes, for transparent success and honest results. FOR CLEAN PERFORMANCE – this is NADA’s vision. This is what brought the initiative „GIVE EVERYTHING, TAKE NOTHING“ to life. It serves as a platform for everyone who wants to commit to the cause of clean sport. The International Triathlon Union (ITU), the sport’s worldwide governing body, introduced the Triathlon World Cup circuit to its program in 1990, one year after the organisation was established. With the creation of the World Triathlon Series in 2009, the Triathlon World Cup circuit became the ITU’s second-tier events. The World Cup circuit is a series of events comprising Standard distance (1.5km swim, 40km bike and 10km run), Sprint distance (750m swim, 20km bike and a 5km run) and two-day (semi-final/ final or Eliminator) format races. World Cup racing is intended to provide a strong and professional base for athletes pursuing entry to the World Triathlon Series and qualification for the Olympics Games and other Major Games.

The aim was to examine the changes and dynamic process of the participating athletes at different times. The result of the study indicates that between 2008 and 2012, the initial average of the number of participating athletes in the National Disabled Games is 53.23, and the average growth is 3.93; the respective t values are 6.78 and 2.81, which are both statistically significant (*p<.05). In other words, the average number of participating athletes in the National Disabled Games in 2008 was 53.23, and continued to grow at an average rate of 3.93 persons per year. There was significant growth in the number of participating athletes between 2008 and 2012 in all cities and counties. In addition, there was significant difference in the growth rates among different cities and counties. Keywords: Latent Growth Model (LGM), physical and mental impairments, National Disabled Games INTRODUCTION It has become a global trend to improve the welfare of the physically and mentally challenged. ISSN 2029-8587 PROBLEMS OF PSYCHOLOGY IN THE 21st CENTURY Vol. 9, No. 2, 2015 85 THE “JŪDŌ SUKEBEI” PHENOMENON: WHEN CROSSING THE LINE MERITS MORE THAN SHIDŌ [MINOR INFRINGEMENT] ― SEXUAL HARASSMENT AND INAPPROPRIATE BEHAVIOR IN JŪDŌ COACHES AND INSTRUCTORS Carl De Crée University of Rome “Tor Vergata”, Rome, Italy Ghent University, Ghent, Belgium International Association of Judo Researchers, United Kingdom E-mail: [email protected] Abstract The sport of jūdō was intended as an activity “for all”. Since in 1996 a major sex abuse scandal broke out that involved a Dutch top jūdō coach and several female elite athletes, international media have identified many more abuses. To date no scholarly studies exist that have examined the nature, extent, and consequences of these anomalies. We intend in this paper to review and analyze sexual abuses in jūdō. To do so we offer a descriptive jurisprudence overview of relevant court and disciplinary cases, followed by a qualitative-analytical approach looking at the potential factors that prompt jūdō-related bullying and sexual harassment. Sex offenders may be attracted to jūdō because of: 1. the extensive bodily contact during grappling, 2. the easy access to voyeuristic opportunities during contest weigh-ins and showering, 3. Jūdō’s authoritarian and hierarchical structure as basis for ‘grooming’, 4. lack of integration of jūdō’s core moral component in contemporary jūdō coach and instructor education, and 5. its increasing eroti- cization by elite jūdō athletes posing for nude calendars and media and by specialized pornographic jūdō manga and movies. Cultural conceptions and jurisprudence are factors that affect how people perceive the seriousness and how these offences are dealt with.
