ISSUE 302 Published by Hamble-le-Rice Parish Council and distributed free throughout the Parish and at www.hambleparishcouncil.gov.uk COUNCIL NEWS The Parish Council is pleased to report that it has appointed Mrs Amanda Jobling as its new Clerk and Responsible Financial Officer. She officially takes up her post at the beginning of this month after a few weeks working alongside Brendan Gibbs prior to his departure. The Council was fortunate to have a number of high quality applicants for the post and we wish her well in her new role that will be both challenging and exciting. As mentioned in the last Council News the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government has refused the appeal by Hallam Land Management for a development next to Hamble Station. Hallam had the right to challenge the Secretary of State’s decision in the High Court within six weeks and this is what has happened. The appeal in the High Court will focus points of law rather than the planning decision itself. As normal at this time of year the Council has been preparing its budget for the next financial year, including reviewing the costs and prices it charges for the services it provides. The Parish Council has again decided not to increase its precept for 2017/18. The Parish Council has agreed to make a £40,000 contribution towards the Borough Council’s refurbishment of the Coronation Parade area and we look forward to this project being completed before early summer.
