It's a long process because I want to make an observational documentary with the narrative structure of a fiction film. I'm trying to capture a coming of age cliché but character arcs take a lot longer in real life. I remember reading once that rites of passage are good things to structure narratives around, so that's what I'm going to do, who am I to argue with a text book? Fair call. I guess one of the characteristics of bands developing or "coming of age" is that things can emerge, change, pass away and be reconfigured quickly.

In one of the most popular episodes during the first season of the show in 2014, Johnson and her guest Magnus Carlson - singer of the popular Swedish band “Weeping Willows” which has collaborated with Oasis member Andy Bell on several occasions - met the 62-year old homeless street musician Doug Seegers who was performing on a park bench in Nashville. A street vendor recommended Johnson and Carlson to check out Seegers, and both were immediately impressed by Seeger’s voice. He tells them that he “lives in a place where he doesn’t have to pay rent - under a bridge”, and then brings them out to a church where homeless people are Seegers with Johnson on offered free food and clothes. During the visit, Seegers plays the cover of their joint his own song ”Going Down To The River”, which impressed album “In Tandem” Johnson and Carlson so much that they returned some time later and offered to record the song with Seegers in Johnny Cash’s old studio in Nashville. ABSTRACT Psychological literature has recognised the importance of community resilience in the wake of traumatic events. However, there is a distinct lack of qualitative research that analyses community responses to terrorism. This research aimed to provide in-depth, qualitative data to explain and understand Manchester’s community response to the Manchester Arena attack on Monday 22nd May 2017. Thirty two pieces of art, objects and murals were located in and around Manchester that were created after the arena attack and photographed by the researcher. Thematic analysis was then carried out and identified key themes which would explain Manchester’s community resilience; (1) time, (2) location, (3) content, (4) meaning, (5) emotions, (6) audience and (7) commercialisation. This study supports the view that Manchester is a resilient community which in the face of terror, Manchester’s artistic habitants stand together to support each other and use their skills to express their resilience to terrorism, using the Manchester worker bee as their preferred symbol. However, Manchester is also an entrepreneurial city in which corporations and local businesses have also shown their solidarity with the victims of the attack by displaying their own tributes in the windows of their premises, often ‘We love Manchester’.
