SUPSI-DTI und inspire verstärken die Zusammenarbeit auf dem Gebiet der „intelligenten Produktionsprozesse“
Das „Dipartimento tecnologie innovative“ SUPSI-DTI der Fachhochschule Südschweiz SUPSI und die Technologietransferplattform inspire AG, der strategische Partner der ETH Zürich für den Wissens- und Technologietransfer auf dem Gebiet der Produktionstechnik, haben beschlossen, auf dem Gebiet der „intelligenten Produktionsprozesse“ enger zusammenzuarbeiten und eine gemeinsame Forschungsgruppe am Standort von SUPSI in Manno (TI) zu gründen. Diese Gruppe wird sich mit der angewandten Forschung und dem Technologietransfer zur Industrie beschäftigen und sich in naher Zukunft vor allem auf die Gebiete „Additive Manufacturing“ und „Digitalisierung, Industrie 4.0“ konzentrieren.
Die Produktionstechnik steht weltweit vor grundlegenden Veränderungen. Neu- artige, zum Teil disruptive Technologien wie additive Fertigung („Additive Manu- facturing“) und Digitalisierung im industriellen Bereich („Industrie 4.0“) werden zu umwälzenden Neuerungen sowohl bei Produktionsmaschinen, Fertigungsprozes- sen und industriellen Produkten führen.
Die 5 Forschungsinstitute von SUPSI-DTI beschäftigen sich mit Lehre und Forschung unter anderem auf den Gebieten Mechanik, Materialwissenschaften, Informatik, Robotik, Datenanalyse und künstliche Intelligenz.
Die inspire AG ist eine von Bund anerkannte und mit Bundesbeiträgen unterstützte „Forschungseinrichtung von nationaler Bedeutung“ mit dem Auftrag, das in der Forschung an der ETH Zürich erarbeitete technologische Grundlagenwissen auf dem Gebiet der Produktionstechnik zur Schweizer Industrie zu transferieren.
SUPSI-DTI und inspire nehmen in der Schweiz eine führende Stellung in der angewandten Forschung und im Wissens- und Technologietransfer ein und haben bereits erfolgreich gemeinsame Technologietransferprojekte mit der Schweizer Industrie durchgeführt. Um die grossen Veränderungen vor allem durch die Digitalisierung und die neuartigen additive Fertigungsverfahren noch besser mitgestalten und die Industrie mit fortschrittlichen Lösungsansätzen unterstützen zu können, haben beide Institutionen beschlossen, eine gemeinsame Forschungs- gruppe auf dem Gebiet der „Intelligenten Produktionsprozesse“ zu gründen. Diese Gruppe am Standort SUPSI-DTI in Manno (TI) ist organisatorisch in die inspire AG eingegliedert und soll eng mit den 5 Instituten von SUPSI-DTI und den bestehenden Leitbereichen von inspire in der Deutschschweiz zusammenarbeiten. Die technisch- wissenschaftliche Betreuung erfolgt gemeinsam durch Professoren von SUPSI-DTI und der ETH Zürich. Als Leitprofessor der Forschungsgruppe «Intelligente Pro- duktionsprozesse» wird Prof. Dr. Emanuele Carpanzano, Direktor von SUPSI-DTI amtieren.

SUPSI-DTI and inspire strengthen cooperation in the field of "intelligent production processes”
The "Dipartimento tecnologie innovative" SUPSI-DTI of the University of Applied Sciences Southern Switzerland SUPSI and the technology transfer platform inspire AG, the strategic partner of ETH Zurich for knowledge and technology transfer in the field of production technology, have decided to cooperate more closely in the field of "intelligent production processes" and to establish a joint research group at the SUPSI site in Manno (TI). This group will deal with applied research and technology transfer to industry and will focus in the near future on "Additive Manufacturing" and "Digitization, Industry 4.0".
Production technology is facing fundamental changes worldwide. New, partly disruptive technologies such as additive manufacturing and digitization in the industrial sector ("Industry 4.0") will lead to revolutionary innovations in production machines, manufacturing processes and industrial products.
The 5 research institutes of SUPSI-DTI deal with teaching and research in the fields of mechanics, materials science, computer science, robotics, data analysis and artificial intelligence. inspire AG is a "research institution of national importance" recognised by the Swiss Confederation and supported by federal subsidies. Its mission is to transfer the basic technological knowledge in the field of production technology developed in research at ETH Zurich to Swiss industry.
SUPSI-DTI and inspire occupy a leading position in Switzerland in applied research and in knowledge and technology transfer and have already successfully carried out joint technology transfer projects with Swiss industry. In order to better shape the major changes, especially through digitization and the novel additive manufacturing processes, and to support industry with advanced solutions, both institutions have decided to establish a joint research group in the field of "intelligent production processes". This group at the SUPSI-DTI site in Manno (TI) is organisationally integrated into inspire AG and will work closely with the five SUPSI-DTI institutes and the existing inspire research groups in German-speaking Switzerland. Technical and scientific support will be provided jointly by professors from SUPSI-DTI and ETH Zurich. Prof. Dr. Emanuele Carpanzano, Director of SUPSI-DTI, will be the lead professor of the research group "Intelligent Production Processes".
