Born in response to the need for a recurrent event that provides long-term support for the development of an Indigineous artistic language, the Contemporary Native Art Biennial highlights, for an Indigenous and non-Indigenous public, the plurality of artistic practices which stem from Native North American cultures. In 2016, an independent non-profit organization, BACA (Biennale d’art contemporain autochtone), was created to better respond to the increasing scale and popularity of this event.
