Introduction The Cist Gwynedd Unit is based within the Community Regeneration Service of Gwynedd Council’s Economy and Community Department. The number of funds varies from year to year. It administers funding from several sources including Gwynedd Council, the Welsh Church Act Fund and the Welsh Government.

The Cist Gwynedd Panel sets the priorities for a number of the funds and also scores applications for the Voluntary Development Fund and the Community Investment Fund, which is a fund created by Gwynedd Community Housing and administered by Mantell Gwynedd. The panel members are appointed from the liaison group between Gwynedd Council and the Third Sector including members of Gwynedd Council and representatives of third sector bodies.

The aim of this report is to inform you of the schemes that have succeeded in attracting sponsorship through Cist Gwynedd during the year.

Gwynedd Council is confident that the projects have made a difference to communities and to the lives of the residents of the county. The plans that have been developed have nurtured the capacity and skills of individuals and groups and prove their ability to innovate and develop new services.

Effect of the Investment During 2015.16, £298,387.21 was awarded by Cist Gwynedd to 47 projects and also, towards 25 small Eisteddfods. The total value of these projects was £557,184.60. This means that there has been an additional investment of £258,797.39 as a result of the Cist Gwynedd investment.
