Part 2 Notification of restricted area 4 Purpose of pt 2 The purpose of this part is to notify a restricted area for the exotic disease. 5 Notification of restricted area—Act, s 10 (1) The restricted area is the area made up of the localities and suburbs under the Place Names Act 1994 that are listed in the schedule. Page 2 2010 SL No. 131 Exotic Diseases in Animals (Asian Honey Bee) Notice 2010 Part 3 Restricted movements [s 6] (2) The location of the boundary of the restricted area is held in digital electronic form by the department. Editor’s note— 1 A series of maps showing the exact location of the restricted area may be inspected, free of charge, at— (a) the department’s central office is located at 80 Ann Street, Brisbane; or (b) any of the department’s regional offices. 2 The addresses and contact details for the department’s offices can be found on the department’s website. (3) The attachment to this regulation shows the approximate location of the restricted area. (4) The attachment does not form part of this regulation. (5) If the restricted area is amended, the attachment must be revised as soon as possible after the amendment. Part 3 Restricted movements 6 Purpose of pt 3 The purpose of this part is to declare that the movement of particular things within, into or out of the restricted area are restricted. 7 Restricted movements—Act, s 10A (1) Each of the following is a restricted movement for the restricted area— (a) moving a bee into the restricted area; (b) moving a bee, bee product or mechanical vector within or out of the restricted area. 2010 SL No. 131 Page 3 Exotic Diseases in Animals (Asian Honey Bee) Notice 2010 Part 3 Restricted movements [s 7] Note— See section 11 of the Act for the circumstances in which a person may make, cause or allow a restricted movement for a restricted area. (2) In this section— bee means a honey bee (Apis spp.) and includes the egg, larva or pupa of the honey bee. bee product includes the following— • beeswax, other than processed beeswax in the form of a block or foundation for hives • beeswax comb • extracted honey, other than extracted honey sealed in a container and processed honey bought from a supermarket or grocery store • pollen • propolis •royal jelly. mechanical vector means a thing, including, for example, clothing, an appliance, equipment, a container or vehicle that is, or has been, used in beekeeping or in handling, housing or storing bees or bee products.
