AHLTV.COM DON’T SLEEP ON PITLICK 2020-21 During the Chicago Wolves’ fast start, a lot of attention has been paid to the team’s teenagers — which TALE OF THE TAPE makes sense because there are several of them and they’ve been plenty good through the first three REGULAR-SEASON SERIES games. But it’s not like the rest of the roster belongs to AARP. 0-1-0-0 Grand Rapids | 1-0-0-0 Chicago LAST MEETING Take center Rem Pitlick, for example. He made his NHL debut with the Nashville Predators on March Feb. 5, 2021 25, 2019 — shortly before his 22nd birthday. The Ottawa native then scored 20 goals in 63 games last year for the AHL’s Milwaukee Admirals during his first year as a pro. Nashville’s 2016 third-round pick has served as head coach Ryan Warsofsky’s first-line center for all three games and has been terrific at both ends of the ice. Pitlick shares the American Hockey League 0-1-0-0 3-0-0-0 lead with three goals and has earned the game-winning goal in each of the last two games — both of them breakaway goals that looked remarkably similar. His game-winner Tuesday against Rockford LEADING SCORERS came on shorthanded when he pounced on a loose puck at the Wolves’ blue line. • P-Bruins Top Senators 4-2 in Binghamton
Nathan Roberts, CMO [email protected] 401.680.4734 P-BRUINS TOP SENATORS 4-2 IN BINGHAMTON Binghamton, NY --The Providence Bruins defeated the Binghamton Senators tonight at Floyd L. Maines Veterans Memorial Arena by a score of 4-2. Wayne Simpson, Jordan Szwarz, Mark Naclerio and Alex Grant scored for Providence, while Malcolm Subban contributed with 38 saves on 40 shots in the victory. Wayne Simpson kicked off the scoring just 3:12 into the first period, slipping the puck past Senators Goaltender Chris Driedger to give the P-Bruins a 1-0 lead. Assisting on the goal was forward Anton Blidh and defenseman Rob O’Gara. Despite the strong start from Providence the first period featured even play from both sides, with each team registering 12 shots in the frame. In addition to matching fighting majors delivered to Providence’s Tyler Randell and Binghamton’s Guillaume Lepine, the only other penalty came late in the period. Binghamton’s Kyle Flanagan was whistled for holding at 17:16 in the period, giving Providence a power play opportunity that proved unsuccessful. The Senators came out strong in the second, looking to tie the score in front of the home crowd. At 5:37 they did just that when Casey Bailey tallied his fourth of the season, assisted by Rumble and Englund, to knot the score at 1-1. Binghamton had a prime opportunity to take the lead just minutes later, when P-Bruins defenseman Alex Grant was called for Hooking at 9:19. The Senators opportunity proved to be short-lived however, after Jordan Szwarz slipped a pass from Tyler Randell into the net for a short-handed goal and a 2-1 Providence lead.

  • AHL Seeing Brand-New Moose Improved Team Beats Cleveland Monsters 4-1
Winnipeg Free Press https://www.winnipegfreepress.com/sports/hockey/manitoba-moose/ahl-seeing-brand-new- moose-451031353.html AHL seeing brand-new Moose Improved team beats Cleveland Monsters 4-1 By: Mike Sawatzky The Manitoba Moose didn’t just get a makeover for 2017-18. If you factor in the 15 players on the current American Hockey League roster who did not play regularly for the Moose last season last season, it’s pretty clear this squad has undergone a radical facelift. Sure, second-year pros such as Jack Roslovic and Kyle Connor are still the offensive engine of the team, but with a wave of fresh talent looking to contribute and better production from returnees such as Brendan Lemieux, the Moose should be better than the bunch that finished seventh of eight teams in the Central Division in 2016-17. Lemieux scored once on the power play and added an empty-netter to lead Manitoba to a 4-1 triumph over the Cleveland Monsters at Bell MTS Place on Sunday afternoon. Rookie pro Jansen Harkins, making his season debut, and Connor, with his third in four games, also scored for the hosts, who improved to 2-2-0-0. "I’m playing a lot more, so there’s more confidence that comes with that," said the 21-year-old Lemieux, who has three goals and five points in four games. "So, I knew coming into this league what kind of player I could be and I think I’m getting to the direction I want to be. I’m not there yet, but close.
