You will need to have your wristband or conference name tag to gain admittance to the keynote speeches, the drag show, and Suzanne Westenhoefer's performance. Communication A bulletin board is available next to the registration tables for program changes, personal messages, meeting notices, ride sharing, etc. Please check it regularly. Parking The easiest place to park is in the garage next to the Ohio Union. We are selling OSU parking passes for $4 (face value) at the registration tables. These passes allow you to park in the garage all day for about $2 less than you would be charged otherwise. Simply present the pass to the gate attendant when you exit the garage. No Smoking and No Scents. Please! There is no smoking anywhere in the Ohio Union. Please do not smoke immediately next to the doors ofthe building. To make it possible for many people with environmental illnesses and chemical sensitivities to attend the conference, we request that people not use perfumes, colognes, oils ("natural" or otherwise), and scented lotions. Accessibility The accessible entrance to the Ohio Union is located on the west side ofthe building; signs are posted at the main (High Street) entrance. All bathrooms are wheelchair accessible, except the ones on the 1st floor directly across from Wendy's. The accessible bathrooms onthe 1st floor are located across from the ballrooms on the north side ofthe building. TTY payphones are located on the 2nd floor, across from the information desk. The keynote addresses will be signed in American Sign Language (ASL) and upfront seating at these events has been reserved for this purpose. We will try to provide ASL interpreters for workshops as needed; please let us know your needs at the registration tables. Safe Rooms Rooms have been reserved for the following groups to meet, chat, rest, and network: People with Disabilities (Scarlet Suite E) People ofColor (Scarlet Suite L) Trans-identified People (Scarlet Suite R) The State Room on the 3rd floor is set aside as quiet space for anyone who needs a break. Please respect these spaces. Counseling and Support I tfyou need to speak with a counselor, or have an issue you'd like to discuss with an advocate, please ask at the registration tables or ask a volunteer (the people in the red conference shirts). We will have counselors and advocates on call, but cannot guarantee their availability. 4 LOVING. WITH Announcements PlUDE Twelve-Step Meetings Open to everyone. Friday at midnight and Saturday at 12:1Spm in the State Room. Gender-Free Bathrooms The restrooms on the 3rd floor by the Buckeye Suites have been designated gender-free. Please respect these bathrooms as available to everyone. A Word about Trans Etiquette Please do not assume anyone's gender, even people you may have met in the past. A person's external appearance may not match their internal gender identity. You cannot know the gender or sex ofsomeone by their physical body, voice, appearance, or mannerisms. It is best to ask, "What pronoun do you prefer?" or "How do you identify?" before using pronouns or gendered words for anyone. In group situations where you don't have an opportunity to ask someone what words they prefer, try using gender-neutral phrases like "the person in the red shirt," instead of "that woman or man." One way ofacknowledging Trans people's needs is to designate restrooms gender neutral. In bathrooms, many Trans people face harassment that can lead to anything from deep discomfort to arrest or death. Regardless ofwhat bathroom you are in, please let everyone pee in peace. Each ofus can decide for ourselves in which bathroom we belong. Please listen to Trans people's needs and stories when
