Drought Support Community Events and Initiatives Support for Drought Affected Areas Eligibility Darling Downs and West Moreton PHN has been granted Local government areas in our region that have received funding funding by the Commonwealth Department of Health to support for community-led events and initiatives include: communities affected by drought under the Empowering our Communities initiative. Goondiwindi Southern Downs These funded programs aim to support people in drought affected Western Downs communities. They will focus on building resilience through Lockyer Valley community-led mental health, suicide prevention and social and Somerset emotional wellbeing intiatives. Toowoomba Cherbourg As a part of this funding, up to 25 community-led events and South Burnett initiatives will be held in eligible local government areas. Outback Health Connecting Weekly yoga sessions and a ‘Monthly Mindful Dinner’ Yelarbon and Fitness Yelarbon Rural and Remote Rural Minds 16 x Rural Minds Briefings which provide a one-hour long session All drought affected Mental Health Briefing BBQ covering rural mental health. LGAs Goolburri Mob Helping One-day community workshop for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Goondiwindi Aboriginal Health Mob: Community Islander people. Advancement Co Wellbeing Day Family Circle Flourish Workshops for rural women spread between Talwood, Toobeah Talwood, Toobeah and Psychology Wellbeing and Dalby focused on a mix of topics. Dalby Coaching & Mindfulness for Rural Women Family Matters Drumming for Drumming workshops to improve mental health and to teach Stanthorpe Counselling and Better Mental anxiety and stress reduction strategies.
