Welcome to The Bear Creek School’s 24th annual auction. This long-standing event has made a huge impact on our community, helping fund the people, buildings, and programs that make Bear Creek such an extraordinary school. Donations to the Fund-A- Need tonight will be dedicated to purchase technology that will create an interactive laptop, projector and whiteboard touch system in grades K- 8, producing a powerful new teaching tool. This system is similar to what is used in the Upper School classes.

Your generosity at tonight’s event enables students in the classrooms, on the playing fields, on the stage, and in the community, to engage in vigorous learning where faith, excellence, and virtue create a vibrant community of lifelong learners, leaders, and followers of Christ.

3 Mrs. Ersek's Class ''Creation in Watercolor'' Mrs. Ersek's second graders studied Genesis 1 at the start of the year, making this project a perfect compliment to their studies. Together they revisited the verse to make a list of items found in it and each student selected one to paint with watercolors. The children’s paintings are framed as a group, beautifully illustrating the final phrase of the verse, ''and it was good''! A special book accompanies this masterpiece with a picture of each student holding their creation, what they wrote about their picture, and a photo of the class. 25 Mrs. Hysom's Class ''Thumbprint Bouquet'' Each child in Mrs. Hysom's grade 2 class used their thumb and acrylic paint to create a colorful flower on a wooden disc. Attached to each is a flowing stem that denotes the child’s name. Each child used a special leaf to write a meaningful virtue. Registration Each guest or couple must check in at the Registration area to receive a packet containing their bid cards and table assignment.

General Rules By bidding in the live or silent auction each bidder agrees to these auction rules.

Auction items will be awarded to one purchaser only and bids will not be split among bidders who may have agreed to pay a portion of the top bid amount. The single purchaser is responsible for payment in full at the Bank on the evening of the auction. The purchaser is solely responsible for collecting individual payments from other bidder(s) who enter into an agreement. Checks, debit cards, American Express, MasterCard, Visa, and exact change in cash will be accepted.

The purchaser assumes the responsibility to locate and remove his/her purchases from the auction venue at the close of the evening. All items are sold “as it”. All services must be claimed or used within one year of the date of the auction unless clearly specified otherwise. All purchases are final and there will be no exchanges or refunds on items unless otherwise noted. Travel packages, unless clearly noted otherwise, do not include airfare.

The Bear Creek School neither warrants nor represents and in no event is responsible for the accuracy of descriptions or condition of items, genuineness, authorship, or provenance. No statement made in this catalog or made orally at the auction or elsewhere shall be deemed such a warranty for tax purposes or fair market value. Items have not been appraised unless otherwise noted. The purchaser must pay any transfer fees, licenses, and taxes. The Auction Office reserves the right to withdraw any item. Each bidder agrees to hold harmless from any liability arising there from The Bear Creek School, its elected and appointed officials, members, and employees, the auctioneer, the auction company and its agents and employees, the event organizers, sponsors, and/or volunteers connected with the auction.

Payment - iExpressPay To avoid lines at the Bank area after the auction, you may swipe a credit card and sign up for convenient iExpressPay in the Registration area until 6:45 p.m. This “opens your tab” for the duration of the event. During the Live Auction, an invoice of your Silent Auction purchases will be delivered to your dining table. At the end of the evening, you may pick up any tangible items and gift certificates you purchased without stopping at the Bank. A full statement, marked “paid” for tax purposes, including any Live Auction purchases, will be mailed to you within ten days of the auction.

Payment at The Bank At the end of the auction, if you did not sign up for iExpress Pay at Registration, you must settle your account in the Bank area. A cashier will process your receipt so you may pay with a check, debit card, American Express, MasterCard, Visa or exact change in cash.

Payment – Matching Gifts The Bear Creek School is a 501(c) 3 charitable organization and your payments are tax-deductible as a charitable contribution, only to the extent provided by law. If your employer matches charitable contributions, your cash donations to the auction or Fund-A-Need, and the portion you pay over the fair market value of items purchased qualify to be matched.

Silent Auction All Silent Auction items have paper bid sheets. The opening bid and the subsequent minimum raises are predetermined and preprinted on the bid sheets. To bid on any item, simply write your bid number next to one of the predetermined bid amounts in the space provided. Please write legibly. Only bid numbers, not names are considered valid bids. You may skip lines and put your number next to any higher amount that you wish. The first person to place their bid number in the “Guaranteed Purchase" box owns the item. Each Silent Section will close at the approximate time listed in the catalog and on signage. The auctioneer will announce the final closing times. A Silent Auction official will certify the closing bid as the winning bid by circling the amount. You can see if you are the successful purchaser by looking at the colored copy of the silent auction bid form that is left in its place after the section is closed.

Live Auction Live Auction items may be previewed from 5:00 p.m. on. Please note any restrictions, limitations, and sizes carefully. To bid in the Live Auction, you must have purchased a ticket, have an assigned bid number, and hold your bid card up high with the number toward the auctioneer. A bid acknowledged by the live auctioneer is a legal contract to purchase the item. The Auctioneer reserves the right to reject any bid that is merely a fractional advance over the prior bid.
