Jamaicanska Popcaan Till Moriskans Summer Party Den 4 Juli 2015-06-24 10:00 CEST Jamaicanska Popcaan till Moriskans Summer Party den 4 juli Sommaren här på riktigt och vi är mycket stolta över att tillsammans med LinkUp Bookings och Klubb Living presentera Moriskans Summer Party med en av världens största Dancehall-artister på scen – jamaicanska Popcaan och hans Dub Akom Band! Tillsammans med en mängd DJ's öppnar vi upp hela huset för en av årets fetaste fester med allt från tung reggae, dancehall och hip hop till svettig reggaeton och cumbia. Popcaan & Dub Akom Band (JAM) Att växa upp i Portmore, Jamaica var inte en lätt väg för Andrae Sutherland. När han var sju år gammal tränade han sig själv till att bli sångare och artist med inspiration av många av de stora jamaicanska musiker som kom generationen före honom. Medans många av hans vänner valde droger och kriminalitet fortsatte Andrae att följa sin musikaliska kallelse. Hans stora genombrott kom när han upptäcktes av sin idol Vybz Kartel på en lokal talangjakt. Det började med en feature på låten ”Clarks” som snabbt blev en av de största låtarna på Jamaica och därefter rullade det på snabbt! Popcaan etablerade sig som en av Jamaicas mest begåvade artister. Med hans distinkta röst och imponerande känsla skapade han internationella hits som "Only Man She Want" och ”Ravin”. Popcaan har helt enkelt allt man vill ha av en dancehall artist – från klubbhits till politiska ghettolåtar till gyallis anthems! Med sin lokala fanbase och dedikerade fans världen över blev Portmore- artisten den första Dancehall-artisten efter Sean Paul att ha en låt med på BBCs playlist och en placering på US Billboard listan! Hans välkända klyschor och karismatiska energi har lett honom till kultstatus inom Reggae/Dancehall-scenen och med samarbeten med Busta Rhymes och Snoop Dogg, Pusha T: s "blocka" och Kanye Wests ”Yeezus” fortsätter kursen mot status som världsstjärna! Under 2012 började Popcaan sitt samarbete med producenten” Dre Skull” och släppte singlarna "Get Gyal Easy", följt av "So We Do It" och "System" som gav Popcaan miljontals YouTube-visningar. 2014 släppta han sitt debutalbum ”Where We Come From”. Här fortsatte han sitt samarbete med Dre Skull och har jobbat tillsammans med Dubbel Dutch, Anju blaxx, Jamie YVP och Svenska Adde Productions. Albumet har gjort ett stort och viktigt avtryck i traditionen av jamaicansk Dancehall-musik. Med ett hjärta som pumpar för dancehall, reggae och hip hop, har hon sedan länge tagit plats på klubbar från norr till söder med sina tighta mixar och feta selections. Hjärnan bakom We Love Gäris, resident på Marie Laveau och turnerar runtom i Sverige med Syster Sol. De har ett sound som låter lika mycket reggae som dancehall men framförallt är de kända för sina dubplates som gjort dom till ett namn i hela Europa. Million Vibes har spelat i London, New York, Moskva, Barcelona, Schweiz, Hamburg, Berlin och ett oräkneligt antal tyska städer samt hela Norden. Med fokus på moombahton, tropical bass och reggaeton har Cuervo levererat tropisk hetta åt folket på allt från svartklubbar, salsaklubbar och de där utomhusfesterna som vi alltid kommer att minnas. Klubbarrangörerna Rob Love & lil g.u.d är resident DJ's och visar hur kärlek i dess renaste form kan låta på ett dansgolv. Här kör olika DJ's som får sinnen att vidgas och kroppar att svettas. MATILDA LIND Matilda Lind från Once Upon a Rhyme har rört sig flitigt mellan DJ-båsen och vänt upp och ner på dansgolv i södern under ett år nu och har inga planer på att sluta snart. När hon inte gör film eller dricker vin så älskar hon att spela ny hiphop och r'n'b för göttigt folk på klubb. Matilda kommer till Moriskan för att överösa er med det bästa nya inom amerikansk och svensk hip hop & r’n’b. Recorded with Mixpak Records owner and tasty house music producer Dre Skull, enjoyment of the album relies on adjusting expectations as Skull's beats aren't the usual clever and Kartel's performance is at half-speed, a pace that causes him to crack less jokes and reflect more, even if heavy issues like jail time and arrests are not what Vybz cares to address right here. In fact, "My Crew" is lightweight stuff lyrically, with Vybz toasting champagne and rattling off porno video titles at a Southern, syrup-sipping, hip-hop pace, but it's also a highlight as Skull bangs the timpani and drops quirky bits of Vybz in full ecstasy.

And what a year it was! The year had barely begun when we were already saying goodbye to musical heroes gone far too soon. David Bowie, Paul Kantner, Glenn Frey, Leon Russell, Maurice White, Prince, Juan Gabriel, George Michael, Sharon Jones... the list goes on. And yet, while sad 2016 became a meme of its own, there is so much for the industry to celebrate. Music consumption is at an all-time high. Overall volume is up 3% over 2016, fueled by a 76% increase in on-demand audio streams, enough to offset declines in sales and return a positive year for the business. Nearly 650 solo artists, groups and collaborators appeared on the Top 200 Song Consumption chart in 2016, representing over 1,200 different songs. The rapid changes in technology and distribution channels are changing the way we discover and engage with content. Reaction times are shorter and current events ERIN CRAWFORD can have an instant impact on consumption. The last Presidential debate had SVP ENTERTAINMENT barely finished when there was an increase in streaming activity for Janet Jackson’s & GM MUSIC “Nasty.” The day after the news broke about Prince’s passing, over 1 million of his songs were downloaded. When a Florida teen set his #mannequinchallenge to “Black Beatles,” the song rocketed up the charts.
