Popmusiikki – Sananhelinää Vai Timanttia?
POPMUSIIKKI – SANANHELINÄÄ VAI TIMANTTIA? Tulkintaan keskittyvä konsertti ideasta toteutukseen Eveliina Määttä Opinnäytetyö Joulukuu 2013 Musiikin koulutusohjelma Teatterimusiikki ja musiikkidraama TIIVISTELMÄ Tampereen ammattikorkeakoulu Musiikin koulutusohjelma Teatterimusiikki ja musiikkidraama EVELIINA MÄÄTTÄ: Popmusiikki – Sananhelinää vai timanttia? Tulkintaan keskittyvä konsertti ideasta toteutukseen Opinnäytetyö 52 sivua, joista liitteitä 2 sivua Joulukuu 2013 Halusin yhdistää kaksi elämäni tärkeää osa-aluetta mahdollisimman yhtenäiseksi ja toimivaksi kokonaisuudeksi. Näin syntyi ajatus konsertista, jossa yhdistin Irina Milanin tulkintaopetuksen popmusiikkiin. Opinnäytetyöni käsittelee konsertin järjestämiseen liittyviä asioita, harjoitteluprosessia ja Irina Milanin tulkintaopetuksen yhdistämistä valitsemiini kappaleisiin. Tavoitteenani oli järjestää korkeatasoinen konsertti ja kehittää itseäni niin laulajana kuin tulkitsijana. Suurimmaksi ongelmaksi osoittautui valitsemieni kappaleiden tekstien käsittely. Koska rytmillä on erittäin merkittävä rooli popmusiikissa, jouduin muokkaamaan sanoitusten rytmityksiä ja karsimaan turhia toistoja sekä melismoja pois rikkomatta kuitenkaan kappaleiden kantavia ideoita. Yhden instrumentin varaan rakennetut sovitukset antoivat teksteille enemmän tilaa ja tekivät kappaleista huomattavan erilaisia verrattuna alkuperäisversioihin. Kohtasimme säestäjieni kanssa sovituksellisia pulmia, joihin pyrimme löytämään toimivat ratkaisut. Opinnäytetyöprosessi kehitti minua monipuolisesti. Koen olevani kypsempi -
