1. Executive Summary The lease area of Mine of J. D. Trivedi& Sons (Survey no. 166 Paiki) is situated near Village - Kumbhariya, Taluka - Danta, District - Banaskantha (Gujarat). This lease had been granted by district office order no.AGP/QL/Renew/1105/2794 dated 07/12/1995 for 20 years. The lease area comprises of Govt. waste land (0.80.94 ha). This is a working quarry which is worked upon by open cast semi-mechanized method. Proposed rate of production is 39,492 TPA. The project cost is Rs. 45 Lac. The expected life of mine will be 9 Years. Marble deposits are source for demand in construction work in all sectors. Kumbhariya Marble deposits are huge source of for construction works in Banaskantha and surrounding districts. J. D. Trivedi& Sons is working mines operating since 1995. The lease area was a part of forest land, but same has been diverted from forest land by central Government vide letter no. 8-355/88-FC dated 27.01.1997. The project attract General Condition (as the Gujarat– Interstate Boundary lies at a distance of ~3.0 km in NW direction from the mine site) and the sum total of the mining lease area of our Project / activity and other existing operating mines and mining Projects located within 500 meters from the periphery of the our Project or activity exceeds 5 ha, 500 m periphery map attached herewith, hence it is treated as Category ‘A’ Project and to be dealt at the level of MoEFCC, New , thus Environmental Clearance for the project is to be grant by the ministry of environment and climate change (MoEFCC); as per EIA Notification dated 14.09.2006 & as amended from time to time.

2. Introduction of the project/ Background information The lease area of Mine (Survey no. 166 Paiki) is situated near Village - Kumbhariya, Taluka - Danta, District - Banaskantha (Gujarat). This lease had been granted by district office order no.AGP/QL/RENEW/1105/2794dated 07/12/1995for 20 years. The lease area comprises wholly of Govt. waste land (0.80.94ha). This is a working quarry which is worked upon by open cast semi-mechanized method. Proposed rate of production is 39,492 TPA. The project cost is Rs. 45 Lac. The expected life of mine will be 9 Years.

2.1 Brief description of nature of the project. The existing mine is providing 39,492 TPA of Marble rock by opencast semi- mechanized method. The lease area is 0.80.94 ha. Lease area is totally govt. waste land. The total mineable reserves available here are 3, 55,925 tons. The expected life of mine is 9 Years. Total overburden generated during the life of mine will be About 35, 592 tons, which will be used to fill the voids generated due to excavated pits. The backfilled area will be reclaimed by plantation. At the conceptual stage total 0.80.94 ha area will be excavated out of which0.08.09 hec. Will be backfilled and reclaimed by plantation. Water requirement for project for domestic use, dust suppression and plantation will be 5.0 KLD which will be met through Open well situated outside the lease area.

Marble Stone Mining Project (Area 0.80.94 hectares) at Near Village:Kumbhariya, Tehsil – Danta, District – Banaskantha (Gujarat) Pre-feasibility Report

In , mining Industry contributes significantly to its economy. The GDP (Gross DomesticProduct) contribution of mining industry varies from 2.2% to 2.5% only but total industrial sector contributes around 10% to 11%.Even small scaled mining contributes 6% to the entire cost of minerals production. The working mine contribute in the State’s minerals production and improve the GDP with a positive & important effect on the region.

2.3 Demand-Supply Gap. As is used as raw material in construction of building and infrastructure projects, the demand of is increasing day by day. In past, demand was not too much but now a days due to rapid industrialization and urbanization its demand increasing with pace of time. At present, demand of is more than the supply.

2.4 Imports vs. Indigenous production. There will be no import for the project. The indigenously produced machinery will be used and the excavated mineral will be for domestic market.

2.5 Export Possibility. There are no export possibilities from the proposed mining activity.

2.6 Domestic / export Markets. At Present Marbles are used in temples, mosques and public buildings of architectural importance. Their west chips and powder are used in the manufacture of mosaic tiles and fat line in chemical industries respectively.

2.7 Employment generation (direct and indirect) due to the project Direct Employment Manager:- 1 Nos.(As per MMR 1961) Mining Mate: - 1 Nos. Mine Workers:- 16 Nos. Project Proponent Environment Consultant M/s. J.D.Trivedi & Sons 5 J.M. InfraNet Pvt.Ltd.
