He moved to Ashland after graduation at the age of 18 to take his first broadcasting job. He went on to become the Kentucky Sportscaster of the Year for 8 consecutive years from 1959-1966. Mr. Sullivan broadcast High School games his entire career as well as the State Tournament (all games) for 20 consecutive years from 1947-1966. Two of his broadcase have been recorded, the famous Carr Creek/Covington Holmes Semi-final in 1948 and the 1950 Ashland Regional between Winchester High and Ashland.
