Subject: 200810 Official Communication ‐ Moose/NASCAR Talking Points Good Afternoon, As you know, the Moose has entered into an agreement to sponsor a NASCAR driver for some of the remaining races during the current season. Since we first contracted for the sponsorship program, there have been a couple of changes to the schedule, based on the race team’s previous commitments, as well as some questions from our members regarding the investment. Attached is the latest information in the form of talking points that should help you clarify some of the details surrounding this program. We are also altering the video for use at the Fall Conferences and will repost to the site when this process is completed. Additionally, the website has been updated with the schedule changes. As a final FYI, despite unsubstantiated rumors of a $1M commitment to this program, rest assured that the total expenditure for this year was nowhere near that amount. Thanks and be well. The Moose logo will be splashed across the No. 10 car during three Xfinity Series races and will also be featured on Ross’s car during one Cup Series race in August. Schedule: • Xfinity Series - UNOH 188 at the Daytona Road Course Daytona International Speedway, Daytona Beach, Florida Saturday, August 15th at 3:00pm ET No. 10 Car • Xfinity Series - Drydene 200 Races Dover International Speedway, Dover Delaware o Saturday, August 22nd at 12:30pm ET AND o Sunday, August 23rd at 1:30pm ET No. 10 Car • Cup Series - Coke Zero Sugar 400 Daytona International Speedway, Daytona Beach, Florida Saturday, August 29th at 7:30pm ET No. 77 Car • RESCHEDULED – The originally announced Xfinity Series Wawa 250 Powered by Coca Cola race on August 28th was upgraded to the Cup Series race due to a scheduling conflict by the racing team. • Although the Moose will not be as prominently featured for the remainder of the racing season, Ross will still represent the Moose Fraternity and promote our good works whenever the opportunity arises. Ross Chastain: • NASCAR’s busiest driver, Ross Chastain, is a 12th-generation farmer and eighth-generation watermelon farmer from Alva, Fla. When not working in the field, Chastain competes in all three of NASCAR’s top-tier series. His most recent victory was at Daytona International Speedway (July 2019) when he took the green-and-white checkered flag to win Stage One and led 49 of the 100 laps before driving into Victory Lane. Moose/Kaulig Racing Partnership: • “Within the Moose Fraternity we have a solid base of members who are devoted fans of NASCAR racing,” according to Moose International CEO Scott Hart. “Our partnership with Kaulig Racing and Ross Chastain will bring not only racing excitement to our one million members, but provides a unique focus on our missions of helping children, seniors and communities.” Added Hart, “Kaulig Racing and the Moose Fraternity present a perfect match. There is a strong sense of family within both organizations and a belief that each member holds equal importance on the team.” Why Advertise: • We have a lot of NASCAR fans as members, and even more out there that are potential members. We were offered a unique opportunity to partner with Kaulig Racing for part of this season, one in which NASCAR viewership is steady and strong during the COVID-19 pandemic. We were also afforded the chance to associate with a very charismatic and capable driver in Ross Chastain. Ross has finished no lower than ninth during his last eleven races, and comes from a strong family background that reflects the values of the Moose. • We realize that membership promotion has been difficult throughout the years, and with the pandemic it has proven to be a bigger obstacle. Without members, it becomes an even greater challenge to support our missions of helping children in need at Mooseheart, seniors at Moosehaven, and the communities in which we operate. It’s also harder for our lodges to operate without members supplying income and volunteer support. Moose International has rarely advertised nationally in the past, but we are committed to making changes in our strategy to try to achieve a more positive result for our lodges and our missions moving forward. Where can we see/hear it? • Xfinity Series races are broadcast on television on NBCSN and on the radio on the Motor Racing Network (MRN) • Cup Series races are broadcast on television on NBC and on the radio on the Motor Racing Network (MRN) Viewing Parties: • Moose International encourages lodges to hold viewing parties at the lodge where/when appropriate. • If you are planning a viewing party at the lodge, please adhere to all state/local safety practices that are in place during the race dates. • On the NASCAR Race page on the Moose International website (www.mooseintl.org) there is a dispensation form if you are planning an open-to-the-public event, as well as some suggested do’s and don’ts for this type event. .
