LCARW General Meeting is Cancelled

News from the Scholarship Committee

The scholarship committee is excited to announce we have received 21 applications to date. Montgomery High School has submitted 10 applications. Lake Creek High School has submitted 4 and has submitted 7.

The committee is excited to review such outstanding applications. It appears we have another year of excellent young individuals needing our help to complete their educations. The GPA’s are very high as usual with no lower than 3.5 and as high as 4.3. Recommendations will melt your heart and the community involvement is outstanding. There are many different things they are participating in that I have not seen before.

We are looking forward to getting together the first week of May to review all applications and make our decision.

During this time especially, help your neighbors and friends. Doing a simple act of kindness such as calling to check on them, picking up their mail, offering to help with trivial tasks can be very helpful to an elderly or ill person. If you see a person needing help loading their groceries, going out to get their paper etc., offer your help. Certainly check on your elderly parents, friends and neighbors to see if they need your help with anything. Some have limited interactions with others and are needy for attention. Just a simple act of kindness each day can be so important to someone’s well being.
