Chapter-4: Environment Management Plan (EMP) This chapter provides environment management plan aimed at minimizing the adverse environmental impacts due to proposed activity. The impacts along with the mitigative/control measures are elaborated. The Monitoring programme of various environmental attributes has also been included. Chapter-5: Risk Assessment and Disaster Management Plan This chapter deals with possible hazards associated with the proposed activity. This also includes occupational health and safety plan. D. P. Girish Environmental Management Plan for the Proposed Ornamental Stone-Dolerite (Black Granite) Quarry in Mysore District CHAPTER – 1 INTRODUCTION 1.1 BACKGROUND Sri. D.P. Girish is proposing a Ornamental Stone-Dolerite(Black Granite) quarry, in an area of 3-18 acres of Govt. Revenue land bearing Sy. No. 207/3, 208/3 & 209/2 of Doddabyalalu Village in Periyapatna Taluk, Mysore District in the state of Karnataka. The said quarry is a new quarry, it is proposed to quarry about 2,000 Cum per Annum of Ornamental Stone-Dolerite (Black Granite) from the quarry. In accordance with the Office Memorandum No. L-11011/47/2011-IA.II(M) dated 18th May 2012, issued by the Ministry of Environment & Forests, Government of India and the EIA Notification 2006, Sri. D.P. Girish, is submitting the Form-I (Revised) along with Pre-Feasibility Report of the proposed activity, Approved Modified Mining Plan (by Dept. of Mines & Geology, Govt. of Karnataka), Land Documents, Environmental Management Plan (Revised) etc. to State Environmental Impact Assessment Authority (SEIAA), Karnataka for issuing Environmental Clearance for the proposed quarrying activity. 1.2 LOCATION OF THE PROJECT The proposed Ornamental Stone-Dolerite(Black Granite) quarry, will be from a Govt. Revenue land bearing Sy. No. 207/3, 208/3 & 209/2 in an extent of 3-18 Acres. The chosen land, belongs to Doddabyalalu Village, Periyapatna Taluk, Mysuru District. 1.3 HIGHLIGHTS OF THE PROJECT The present project of Ornamental Stone-Dolerite (Black Granite) quarrying in a Govt. Revenue land having an extent of 3-18 Acres with a capacity of 2,000 Cum per Annum, has the main advantage of availability of the rocky terrain. The location of the quarry is near to Doddabyalalu Village in Periyapatna Taluk, Mysore District. It has got a good connectivity to the National Highway connecting with Mysuru. Further the Proposed Project has chosen to adopt “OPEN CAST” Method by Semi-mechanized quarrying, an already proven environment friendly process, which will be a safe bet on the investment as well as returns on investment, & for environmental protection & pollution prevention. E1 Sri. D. P. Girish Environmental Management Plan for the Proposed Ornamental Stone-Dolerite (Black Granite) Quarry in Mysore District 1.4 ADMINISTRATIVE & LEGISLATIVE BACKGROUND As per the latest Office Memorandum No. L-11011/47/2011-IA.II(M) dated 18th May 2012 issued by Ministry of Environment & Forests (MoEF), Government of India and the EIA Notification of the MoEF dated 14.09.2006 (amended in 2009), any new Mining or Quarrying activity shall not be undertaken in any part of India unless it is accorded environmental clearance by the concerned State Environmental Impact Assessment Authority (SEIAA), in accordance with the procedures specified in this Notification. As per the procedure, all quarries or mining of minor minerals proposals with an extent of less than 5 Hectares of activity area, in any part of India or expansion or modernization of any existing mine/ quarry, shall apply in prescribed Form, along with necessary documentation like Pre-Feasibility Report, Approved Mining Plan, Location Map, Land documents, Mine Notification Copy, Environmental Management Plan (EMP) etc.. Accordingly, this EMP for the proposed quarrying activities of Sri. D.P. Girish has been prepared for the perusal of SEIAA/ SEAC. 1.5 EMP FORMAT The present report is based on compilation of the secondary data available for the proposed project site & its surroundings, a description of the production process, preparation of environment management plan and disaster management plan. The contents of the report have been organized in following Five (05) chapters: Chapter-1 - Introduction This chapter provides background information of the project, brief description of the area, significance of the project and format of the report. Chapter-2 - Project Details This chapter deals with the proposed quarry location, machinery used for quarrying, infrastructure requirements etc. E2 Sri. D. P. Girish Environmental Management Plan for the Proposed Ornamental Stone-Dolerite (Black Granite) Quarry in Mysore District CHAPTER – 2 PROJECT DETAILS 2.0 INTRODUCTION Sri. D.P. Girish. is new Ornamental Stone-Dolerite(Black Granite) quarry for extraction of Ornamental Stone-Dolerite(Black Granite) Blocks of various sizes to cater to the demands of the domestic as well as export market. The said Quarry is an new quarry and is spread over an extent of 3-18 acres in a Govt. Revenue land bearing Survey No.207/3,208/3,209/2 of Doddabyalalu Village, Periyapatna Taluk, Mysore District in the state of Karnataka. 2.1 PROJECT SITE DETAILS v Sri. D.P. Girish. is a new Ornamental Stone-Dolerite(Black Granite) quarry, in an area of 3-18 acre of Govt. Revenue land . v The geographical details of the quarry site are as under: Point Latitude Longitude A N 12°22’51.4” E 76°10’03.5” B N 12°22’48.1” E 76°10’02.6” C N 12°22’48.5” E 76°10’04.6” D N 12°22’47.4” E 76°10’04.8” E N 12°22’47.3” E 76°10’04.1” F N 12°22’46.7” E 76°10’04.8” G N 12°22’48.3” E 76°10’08.1” H N 12°22’50.3” E 76°10’06.6” I N 12°22’52.8” E 76°10’05.4” v Details of the surrounding environmental features are given under Chapter-3 2.2 DETAILS ABOUT THE PROJECT 2.2.1 Cost of the Project: The total cost of the proposed Ornamental Stone-Dolerite (Black Granite) quarrying activity is estimated as Rs. 15 Lakhs, of which approx. Rs. 1-2 Lakhs is towards the pollution control. Most of the mechanical equipment will be outsourced. E4 Sri. D. P. Girish Environmental Management Plan for the Proposed Ornamental Stone-Dolerite (Black Granite) Quarry in Mysore District 2.2.2 Raw Materials Requirement The proposed activity itself is quarrying of Black Granite, which will be the raw material for subsequent activities. Hence, there is no requirement of any other raw materials. 2.2.3 Description of the Process: In the above mentioned Govt. Revenue land (Sy. No. 207/3, 208/3 & 209/2 of Doddabyalalu Village, Periyapatna Taluk, Mysore District ,Karnataka State), quarrying of Ornamental Stone-Dolerite(Black Granite) will be carried-out by open cast mining and semi-mechanization method by using Drilling machine, excavators, dumpers and water tanker. As the rock is exposed to open sky, open cast quarrying will be sufficient. To achieve the required level of Ornamental Stone-Dolerite(Black Granite) production, it requires 1 excavator, 2 Air compressors, 1 wire-saw cutting machine, 3 jack hammer , 1 Bore Driller ,2 Dumpers & 1Tractor for water supply. Transportation of quarried material will be made through hired trucks to the dispatching points. The flow diagram of various activities involved in the quarrying of Ornamental Stone-Dolerite(Black DRILLING & DISLODGING QUARRY WIRE-SAW CUTTING Granite) is shown below: TRANSPORT LOADING Drilling: Drilling for development and production is largely by pneumatic as well as by hydraulic means supplied by compressor of different capacities are used. 32mm diameter holes are drilled ranging from 60 Cm. to 6.00 m with the number of holes depending on the spacing and burden. Drilling is also done while dressing the block to their final form. E5 Sri. D. P. Girish Environmental Management Plan for the Proposed Ornamental Stone-Dolerite (Black Granite) Quarry in Mysore District Loading: the Ornamental Stone-Dolerite(Black Granite) dimensional stone blocks, which produced from the quarry, are loaded on the trucks by 20 tones crane at the stockyards.

Job Profile:- (i) BRANCH POSTMASTER (BPM) The Job Profile of Branch Post Master will include managing affairs of GDS Branch Post Office, India Posts Payments Bank ( IPPB) and ensuring uninterrupted counter operation during the prescribed working hours using the handheld device/Smartphone supplied by the Department. The overall management of postal facilities, maintenance of records, upkeep of handheld device, ensuring online transactions, and marketing of Postal, India Post Payments Bank services and procurement of business in the villages or Gram Panchayats within the jurisdiction of the Branch Post Office should rest on the shoulders of Branch Postmasters. However, the work performed for IPPB will not be included in calculation of TRCA, since the same is being done on incentive basis.Branch Postmaster will be the team leader of the GDS Post Office and overall responsibility of smooth and timely functioning of Post Office including mail conveyance and mail delivery. He/she might be assisted by Assistant Branch Post Master of the same GDS Post Office. BPM will be required to do combined duties of ABPMs as and when ordered. He will also be required to do marketing, organizing melas, business procurement and any other work assigned by IPO/ASPO/SPOs/SSPOs/SRM/SSRM etc.In some of the Branch Post Offices, the BPM has to do all the work of BPM/ABPM.
