More help to clean our churches would be appreciated ! It is proposed that a ’Household’ i.e. two people or more living together or in a ‘Bubble’ could offer their services. If you can help please contact Fr. Nicholas. Booking Seats at Mass. (a) It is advisable to book a seat (on-line / by phone) if you are intending to attend a weekend Mass. (b) The obligation to attend Holy Mass currently remains suspended. Spiritual Communion. If you are unable to come to Mass in person please join us through a time of prayer & reflection at home. A prayer to help you benefit from Spiritual Communion is: At your feet, O my Jesus, I prostrate myself and offer you repentance of my contrite heart, which is humbled in its nothingness and in your holy presence. I adore you in the Sacrament of your love, the ineffable Eucha- rist. I desire to receive you into the poor dwelling that my heart offers you. While waiting for the happiness of sacramen- tal communion, I wish to possess you in spirit. Come to me, O my Jesus, since I for my part, am coming to you ! May your love embrace my whole being in life and in death. I believe in you, I hope in you, I love you. Amen. (Raphael, Cardinal Merry del Val). Sacrament of Reconciliation. For all who desire to Receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation at this time & are unable to do so due to our social restrictions it is possible to offer a Perfect Act of Contrition: My God, I am sorry for my sins with all my heart. In choosing to do wrong and failing to do good, I have sinned against You whom I should love above all things. I firmly intend, with your help, to do penance, to sin no more, and to avoid whatever leads me to sin. Our Saviour Jesus Christ suffered and died for us. In His name, my God, have mercy. AMEN. Congratulations & a lifetime of happiness are wished to Melissa Harper & Rhys Wheeler who were married at St. Paul’s Church last Saturday. Sacraments of First Reconciliation, Holy Communion & Confirmation. Congratulations to the following Year 5 children who celebrated their First Holy Communion this last week: Matilda, Sophie, Ben, Dylan & Liam (Monday), Layla, Lilly-Rose, Matilda, Summer, Dawid, George & Oliver (Tuesday), Isabella, Marnie, Bobby, Charlie, Connor, Ellis & Jake (Wednesday), & Anya, Imogen, Nancy, Pola, Frasier, Isaac, Peter & Rodrigo (Thursday). These again will be for family members / groups only in order to keep everyone as safe as possible. N.B. Heckmondwike Petanque Club, Algernon Firth Park, Heckmondwike, WF16 0HH Heckmondwike is very nearly on the A62 from Huddersfield to Leeds. The park is on the main A638 road which goes from The Swan Traffic lights into the town centre locally but navigation is difficult as Heckmondwike has a complex one way system. If you can find Morrisons petrol station or the Medical Centre there is a roundabout opposite the entrance and Firth Park is a turning off that. By car From the North West. Leave the M62 at junction 25. Turn right towards Dewsbury. After about 1 mile bear left at the Dumb Steeple roundabout/lights onto the A62. Keep going for 3 miles until you pass the Golden Fish chippy on your right. Turn right onto Union Road. Carry on for 1 mile until you reach a roundabout. Turn left into Firth Park. From Leeds or the east. Leave Leeds on A62 or leave M62 at Junction 27 and go past IKEA retail park and through Birstall 6 lane ends traffic lights. Keep going on A62 past Peking Duck then after half a mile just before Plannit Kitchens turn left onto Union Road. Carry on this road for 1 mile until you reach a roundabout. Turn left into Firth Park. By Bus The 209 and the 219 go from Leeds to Heckmondwike. The 221 from Leeds to Mirfield via Heckmondwike. The 229 from Leeds to Huddersfield via Heckmondwike. The 254 goes from Wakefield through Heckmondwike to Leeds The 268 goes from Dewsbury to Bradford via Heckmondwike. Going home. Much easier.

Our ref: 2387/21 Figures for incidents of drink spiking in your region over the last 5 years (year by year) I would appreciate it if the figures can be broken down to the nearest city/town. Can you also tell me the number of prosecutions there have been for the above offences and how many of those resulted in a conviction? Please see the attached document. West Yorkshire Police receive reports of crimes that have occurred following a victim having their drink spiked, crimes such as rape, sexual assault, violence with or without injury and theft. West Yorkshire Police take all offences seriously and will ensure that all reports are investigated. Specifically for victims of rape and serious sexual offences, depending on when the offence occurred, they would be offered an examination at our Sexual Assault Referral Centre, where forensic samples, including a blood sample for toxicology can be taken, with the victim’s consent, if within the timeframes and guidance from the Faculty for Forensic and Legal Medicine. West Yorkshire Police work with support agencies to ensure that all victims of crime are offered support through the criminal justice process, including specialist support such as from Independent Sexual Violence Advisors. Recorded crime relating to spiked drinks, 01/01/2016 to 31/12/2020 Notes Data represents the number of crimes recorded during the period which: - were not subsequently cancelled - contain the search term %DR_NK%SPIK% or %SPIK%DR_NK% within the crime notes, crime summary and/or MO - specifically related to a drug/poison/other noxious substance having been placed in a drink No restrictions were placed on the type of drink, the type of drug/poison or the motivation behind the act (i.e.
