Rail-Served: Intermodal, unit and manifest capable. Recent infrastructure improvements reduced congestion, expanded the port’s capacity, efficiency, and security for switching and operations. A $13.2 million rail interchange track project is scheduled to commence in 2020. Cranes: Liebherr Mobile Harbor Crane (LHM 500), 140 metric ton (308,6467 Lbs.) maximum capacity. Terminal Capabilities Overview: Approximately 7,500 linear feet (2072.64 meters) of harbor front, with 12 berths, wide concrete aprons and a constant minimum water depth of 36-40 feet (10.97- 12.19 meters) at mean low tide at the face of all docks. Bulk and breakbulk cargo customers have access to almost 600,000 square feet (55741.824 sq. meters) of covered, modern storage, bulk cargo terminals and over 90 acres (36.42 hectares) of open storage. Marine terminal facilities handle same-day transfers between ship and rail. Rail tracks extend into spacious, well-lighted and well-ventilated transit sheds permit day or night all-weather cargo handling. The Port of Beaumont is the premiere Gulf Coast port for breakbulk cargo and heavy lift.
