Storm News We notched our third win of the season last Sunday; scoring a hard fought 28-20 victory over the Sharks. I’ve no idea how the 3-2-1s panned out but big Jayden Stanley made a fair case to be awarded all six. The prop had a hand in five of the half dozen Storm tries and the Terrigal lads simply had no answer to his fearsome charges and Beetson like ball skills. On a gloriously purple afternoon; Eather, Lacey, Smith and Starr also caught the eye. Today we’re up at Kanwal to try our luck against the Roos. If we can hold the ball, defend like Trojans, and somehow manage to score more points than our opponents, then a boilover is not beyond the realms of possibility. I tip Gosford by 1 (- The Eye -). A big thank you to our corporate supporters; The Elanora Hotel –East Gosford (Major Sponsor), Bartlett Construction, Hinterland Gosford, Seaman Concreting, Travo Corp Omid Corporation, & Vodaphone Gosford.

The ladies tackled their way to victory in the major semi-final, winning 16-0. Stockton will now play Maitland on Saturday and Berkeley Vale will play the winner of this match in the Grand Final on Saturday 14 July at Waratah Oval in Newcastle. Berkeley Vale women’s rugby league play in the Central Coast/ competition – the first competition of its kind in the region. There is also a 14s, 16s and 18s division and the lady Panthers would like to wish 16s and 18s all the best in their finals series. Congratulations and good luck Berkeley Vale!!!

Sports Community Information 20 quick and easy fundraising ideas you may not have heard of or simply forgotten. Why do clubs actually spend so much time fundraising? It is an interesting question and worth taking a second to consider... “Simply to minimise the cost of participation to members” Most clubs target members for their fundraising activities but in reality, this does not reduce the cost to members, it is just charging them in a different way. Clubs need to change their way of thinking about their fundraising activities and look for ways to target the broader com- munity to alleviate these costs. In saying this, we do not want to lose the social events and activities we are currently hosting because we know the main reasons people join clubs if for the social opportunities and relationships they create.
