FREELANCE POKER WRITING: How to Make Money Writing for the Gaming Industry Buy The Complete Version of This Book at Booklocker.com: http://www.booklocker.com/p/books/2570.html?s=pdf Freelance Poker Writing by Brian Konradt 14 PREFACE This book is slightly ahead of its time. Freelance Poker Writing is the first book showing freelance writers how to make money writing for the gaming industry. Why now? Both poker and casino-style games have been growing in popularity — and so has the writing opportunities. If you search for “poker writing” or “legalized game writing” on Google, you won’t come up with much information on how to break into this industry as a freelance writer. This does not mean writing opportunities don’t exist or freelance writers aren’t making money writing about poker and gaming. If you dig long enough, interview the pros in the industry, and research everything about poker and gaming, you will come up with what I came up. And I crammed everything I found into this guide for you. WHAT IS FREELANCE POKER WRITING? There are many popular casino-style games, but nothing matches the growth and popularity of poker and how poker influences society. In writing this book I have focused more on the games and influences of poker than on any other casino-style games. I use the term “poker writing” in this book to mean writing about the games of poker, as well as writing about the influences of poker.

  • An Advanced Poker Guide
Buchbesprechung: Barry Greenstein – Ace on the River: An Advanced Poker Guide Frank op de Woerd Das Buch über welches wir heute sprechen ist Barry Greenstein’s ‚Ace on the River: An Advanced Poker Guide‘.

  • Lessons for Negotiators from Poker
\\jciprod01\productn\N\NVG\2-2\NVG204.txt unknown Seq: 1 23-DEC-11 11:26 HOW TO PLAY YOUR HAND: LESSONS FOR NEGOTIATORS FROM POKER The Saltman Center for Conflict Resolution at the UNLV William S. Boyd School of Law hosted this in-depth panel discussion on November 5, 2010. The event sought to address the topic of conflict resolution and negotiation strategies by taking an intimate look at the high-stakes sport of professional poker. The panel featured internationally acclaimed poker players Annie Duke and her brother, Howard Lederer; UCLA professor Russell Korobkin; and lead- ing Las Vegas gaming executive Jack Binion. The following transcript reflects the speakers’ discussion. Note: The UNLV Gaming Law Journal Editorial Board has preserved the form of the original transcript with minor revisions to punctuation, grammar and sentence structure. TRANSCRIPT John Valery White: Welcome, everyone. I am John White, Dean of the William S. Boyd School of Law. Law school is fundamentally about teaching mechanisms of conflict resolution. It’s fitting that the Saltman Center for Con- flict Resolution has served as our central connection to the general public in communicating the different aspects of conflict resolution and techniques for conflict resolution. But within the ambit of the conflict resolution world is the important skill of negotiation, which we teach, and we emphasize because it’s important for lawyers to know and have. This panel brings together one of our key skills [negotiation] that we teach and one of the important games that makes Las Vegas extremely popular: poker. Those two have interesting and important overlaps that we hope to explore.
