Day One – Thursday, April 2 - NOTE: Prior to allowing the group to board the coaches, the district Transportation Director Jay Peplin, needs to review the driver’s documentation (identification and log books) and vehicles need to be inspected. 6:00 AM - Boarding begins at Holland High School (716) 537-8200 (103 Canada Street) in Holland, New York with 2 (56) passenger Anytime Coach Lines motorcoaches (formerly Linq Transportation). NOTE: Boarding takes place on west end of the school, near the Auditorium. 6:30 AM EDST - Depart for Chicago with lunch and rest stops enroute at your own expense. 6:30 PM CDST - Approximate arrival time for dinner at The Original Gino’s East (162 East Superior Street). Your buffet style diner consists of house salad, deep dish pizzas of cheese, pepperoni, or sausage, dessert, and unlimited soft drinks. 8:00 PM - After dinner, board the coach and depart for check-in at your hotel. 8:45 PM - Approximate arrival time at the Doubletree Hotel Chicago – Oak Brook (630) 472-6000 (1909 Spring Road) in Oak Brook, Illinois. The hotel’s indoor pool is open daily from 5:00 AM-11:00 PM. 11:00 PM - Private hotel security begins with Dahlstrom Security Services to patrol your group’s floor(s). Day Two – Friday, April 3 6:30 AM - Buffet breakfast at the hotel. NOTE: Please check with the front desk on your breakfast room location. 7:30 AM - Board the coach. 7:45 AM - Depart for Oak Park. 8:45 AM - Approximate arrival time for your 1 hour, guided tour of Frank Lloyd Wright’s Home and Studio (951 Chicago Avenue between North Harlem and North Oak Park Avenues). NOTE: Please arrive 15 minutes early. Upon arrival, please keep everyone on the bus until a representative has come on board to review the guidelines. Requested tour and waiting on a response. NOTE: Due to the limited space inside the house, your group will be staggered in 10 minute increments. 11:00 AM - After the last tour, board the coach and depart for lunch and shopping at your own expense along the Magnificent Mile. In this stretch of Michigan Avenue from Oak Street to the Chicago River, you will find Nordstrom’s, Neiman Marcus, Macy’s, Saks Fifth Avenue, Barney’s, Brooks Brothers, and five shopping centers within a few city blocks! The shopping centers you can encounter are: 900 North Michigan Shops, Chicago Place, The Shops at North Bridge, The Shops at the Mart, and Water Tower Place. 2:00 PM - Board the coach and depart for the hotel to freshen up for tonight’s dinner and entertainment. 5:00 PM - Depart for Navy Pier. 6:45 PM - Approximate arrival time at Navy Pier for tonight’s student dinner dance cruise with DJ aboard the Spirit of Chicago or Mystic Blue. Boarding begins at 7:00 PM for cruising from 7:30-10:00 PM. 10:00 PM - After the cruise, board the coach and return to the hotel. 11:00 PM - Private hotel security begins with Dahlstrom Security Services to patrol your group’s floor(s). Day Three – Saturday, April 4 7:45 AM - Buffet breakfast at the hotel. 8:45 AM - Boarding begins. 9:00 AM - Depart for downtown Chicago. 10:00 AM - Approximate arrival time for your self-guided admission to the Museum of Science and Industry (5700 South Lake Shore Drive) and special exhibit Wired to Wear. Wired to Wear is where to see more than 100 inventions from brands, designers, engineers and artists across 15 countries, representing the most innovative ideas in this emerging field. Interact with a dress that knows when you’re looking at it. Tattoos that turn the body into a musical instrument. A jacket that barks in warning if you’re crowding it. You’ll get to try out these imaginative ways for clothing to enhance our environment. - During your visit to the Museum, each person will receive a meal voucher for an entrée, side and drink. Day Three – Saturday, April 4 (con’t) 12:45 PM - Depart for your timed admission to the Art Institute of Chicago (600 East Grand Avenue off Illinois Street). NOTE: At the time of proposal, the Art Institute is not processing their Spring 2020 group requests until December. Once your visit’s been scheduled, your itinerary will be updated accordingly. 4:00 PM - After the Art Institute, you will walk across the street to Millennium Park (between Columbus Drive, Michigan Avenue, Randolph and Monroe Streets) and a group photo opportunity at “The Bean”. You can also check out the ice rink, pavilion, fountain, bridge and garden. - Time permitting, check out The Loop, Buckingham Fountain (won’t have running water during your visit), and Grant Park. Grant Park is between Randolph Drive, Roosevelt Road, Michigan Avenue and Lake Michigan, often referred to as a garden oasis and a cultural mecca. You’ll find beautiful lake front views, a music shell and gardens. 5:30 PM - Arrive for dinner at Foodlife at Water Tower Place (835 North Michigan Avenue between East Chestnut and East Pearson Streets). Everyone will receive an all-you-can-eat wristband, when you pick and choose your entrees, sides, desserts, and non-alcoholic beverages from any of the 14 different kitchens. You’ll find Mexican, Asian, soups, salads, pizza, pasta, juices, grilled and comfort food, barbecue, and desserts. 7:15 PM - After dinner, board the coach and depart for the Willis Tower’s Skydeck Chicago (formerly known as the Sears Tower, 233 South Wacker Drive between West Washington Boulevard and West Calhoun Place). Be sure to try out one of the glass boxes that extends out 4.3 feet from the 103rd floor that’s 1,353 above the ground. 9:00 PM - After the tour visit, board the coach and return to the hotel. - You’ll have time this evening to pack and reminisce on your time in the “windy city”. 11:50 PM - Private hotel security begins with Dahlstrom Security Services to patrol your group’s floor(s). Day Four – Sunday, April 5 7:45 AM - Buffet breakfast at the hotel. 8:45 AM - Check-out of the hotel and load the coach. 9:00 AM CDST - Depart for home with rest, lunch and dinner stops enroute at your own expense. 11:00 PM EDST - Approximate arrival time in Holland. .
