BUFFALO BISONS (AAA) –

Scranton/WB: 3 runs, 13 hits, 2 errors Buffalo: 2 runs, 8 hits, 0 errors

GAME RECAP: Scranton/WB completed the sweep against Buffalo on Sunday after beginning the series snapping a season‐best 9 game winning streak. L/RHP started off the game, allowing 1 ER on 4 hits and 1 walk over 3.0 IP while striking out 3. RHP Ben Rowen earned his 3rd loss allowing 6 hits and 2 runs over the following 3.0 IP. DH Jesus Montero and 1B Casey Kotchman led the offence, each going 2‐4 with 1 run. In the bottom of the 9th the Bisons were able to load the bases with two outs, before SS Alexi Casilla flied out to left field.

OF NOTE: Montero has multiple hits in back‐to‐back games and is hitting .310 on the season, ranking him 3rd in the IL, while placing 2nd in hits with 95.

TRANSACTIONS: RHP Bo Schultz optioned from Toronto to Buffalo on July 2. Added to the Buffalo roster July 3. Ben Rowen allowed a run to score for the first time since May 8, bringing his scoreless streak to an end after 23.1 innings. RHP Roberto Hernandez was granted his request to be released when Schultz was optioned back from Toronto, posting a 4‐4 record with a 4.42 ERA in 13 starts.

NEW HAMPSHIRE FISHER CATS (AA) – EASTERN LEAGUE

New Hampshire: 1 run, 3 hits, 0 errors Binghamton: 3 runs, 7 hits, 1 error

GAME RECAP: CF Roemon Fields recorded 2 of the team’s 3 hits, and scored the only runs, while stealing 3 bases in a losing effort as the Fisher Cats’ offence was hardly present. LHP Shane Dawson had a solid start, allowing 1 ER on 4 hits and 4 walks while striking out 7 before handing the ball off to LHP , who allowed the game‐winning run on 1 hit and 1 walk over his 2.0 IP.

OF NOTE: Roemon fields’ 3 stolen bases now give him 26 on the season, placing him 3rd among Eastern Leaguers. Fields has scored 5 runs and stolen 6 bases in his last 4 games. Dawson has allowed 1 ER in 5 of his last 8 starts, and matched his season‐high of 7 .

DUNEDIN BLUE JAYS (A) –

Tampa: 0 runs, 3 hits, 0 errors Dunedin: 1 run, 5 hits, 1 error

GAME RECAP: RHP Sean Reid‐Foley led the Blue Jays to a 1‐0 victory, allowing just 1 hit over 7.1 innings while fanning 9 batters. SS Richard Urena drove in the only run of the game, while C Michael De La Cruz and DH Andrew Guillotte recorded the only two XBH, each going 1‐3 with a double.

OF NOTE: Reid‐Foley posted his 2nd 1‐hit start in 2016, but first as a member of Dunedin, and first without walking any batters. He has allowed no runs in 3 of his 4 starts for Dunedin, and has posted a 32/6 K/BB in his 4 starts with Dunedin. Urena has an RBI in four of his last five games. De La Cruz has an XBH in 3 straight games.

LANSING LUGNUTS (A) –

Lansing: 3 runs, 6 hits, 1 error South Bend: 5 runs, 10 hits, 0 errors

GAME RECAP: The Lugnuts allowed 4 runs in the 8th inning after leading the entire game in a tough 5‐3 loss. LHP had allowed just 6 hits and 1 ER while striking out 8 batters over his first 7 innings, heading into the 8th where he gave up two singles and a sacrifice bunt, before turning it over to RHP Starlyn Suriel. Suriel gave up a double, a wild pitch, a walk, a single, and a sacrifice fly before recording the final out of the inning, resulting in a blown save and a loss. DH Max Pentecost dominated offensively, going 2‐4 with 2 home runs; one with 2 outs in the 1st, and one to lead off the 7th inning.

OF NOTE: Borucki has tossed his 4th consecutive quality start. Over those past four starts he is posting a K/BB ratio of 31/0. Pentecost has four home runs in his last eight games.

VANCOUVER CANADIANS (SHORT A) – NORTHWEST LEAGUE

Spokane: 3 runs, 9 hits, 3 errors Vancouver: 0 runs, 6 hits, 2 errors

GAME RECAP: The Canadians struck out 12 times on Sunday as they were shut out 3‐0, failing to record an XBH and more than one walk. The only member of the squad to record multiple hits was 2B . RHP Justin Maese allowed an ER on 2 hits over 0.1 IP before leaving the game.

OF NOTE: Biggio’s .326 BA is 7th among Northwest League batters.

BLUEFIELD BLUE JAYS (ROOKIE) –

Bluefield: 8 runs, 12 hits, 2 errors Elizabethton: 6 runs, 8 hits, 2 errors

GAME RECAP: The Blue Jays surrendered 2 runs in the bottom of the 9th to send the game to extra innings before winning it on 2 runs scored in the 11th. Each of their bottom four batters recorded multiple hits, headlined by 2B Juandy Mendoza who was 2‐3 with two walks, two doubles, and two RBI, LF Kalik May who was 2‐4 with a walk, a triple, and two runs scored, SS Jesus Severino who was 3‐4 with a couple of walks and a run scored, and C Ridge Smith who was 2‐4 with a double and a walk.

OF NOTE: Mendoza has four doubles in his last four games. Severino has 5 hits and 3 RBI over his last two games. Smith has hit in four straight games, going 7‐15 over this stretch with a double, a triple, and a .
