BUFFALO BISONS (AAA) – INTERNATIONAL LEAGUE

Charlotte: 2 runs, 4 hits, 1 error Buffalo: 5 runs, 12 hits, 0 errors

GAME RECAP: The Bisons pitching staff was strong in a 5‐2 victory over Charlotte, giving up just 4 hits while striking out 12. RHP Drew Hutchison allowed 2 ER over 6.0 IP on 3 hits while striking out 7, before handing it off to RHP Bo Schultz, who pitched 2.0 1‐hit innings, while striking out 3 batters. RHP Ryan Tepera earned his 7th save for the Bisons, pitching a perfect 9th while striking out 2. DH Domonic Brown was 3‐4 with a double and an RBI, while RF Junior Lake recorded 3 RBI including a 2‐run shot to open the scoring in the 2nd inning.

OF NOTE: Pompey has hit safely in 8 consecutive games. Hutchison has allowed 3 hits or less in 4 of his last 5 starts, and has struck out at least 7 batters in 3 straight. Schultz struck out 3 batters in an outing for the first time in 2016. Tepera has converted on 7 straight save opportunities after blowing his first 2. Brown recorded his 5th 3‐hit game of 2016 and his second in his past 4 games. Lake’s 6th ties him for 2nd on the team.

NEW HAMPSHIRE FISHER CATS (AA) – EASTERN LEAGUE

Bowie: 3 runs, 5 hits, 0 errors New Hampshire: 7 runs, 11 hits, 1 error

GAME RECAP: RF Ian Parmley had a career day – going 4‐4 with a home run and 4 RBI – in a 7‐3 victory over Bowie. CF Roemon Fields was also productive at the plate, adding a 2‐run 2‐out home run in the 4th inning. LHP Shane Dawson earned the win in a quality start that saw him allow 1 ER over 6.1 IP.

OF NOTE: Parmley’s home run was only the second of his Minor League career, and it was the first 4‐RBI game he has ever had (4 seasons). Dawson has allowed 1 ER or less in 3 of his last 4 starts, and has allowed 2 ER or less in 7 of his last 9. His 3 hits allowed tie his season‐best. Marks only the 3rd time in 11 starts that he walked fewer than 3 batters.

DUNEDIN BLUE JAYS (A) –

Dunedin: 0 runs, 9 hits, 1 error Charlotte: 7 runs, 12 hits, 1 error

GAME RECAP: The Blue Jays’ offence was unable to get going as they were shutout 7‐0 on Sunday. RHP Chris Rowley earned the loss in his start, allowing 4 ER over 6.0 IP on 9 hits and 1 walk. RHP Brad Allen pitched the last 2.0 innings, allowing 2 earned runs on 3 hits. The main offensive contributors were LF Jonathan Davis who was 2‐3 with 2 walks, DH Jorge Saez went 2‐3 with a walk, and SS Richard Urena went 2‐5 with a double.

OF NOTE: Rowley gave up season‐highs in runs (5) and earned runs (4). Allen has allowed 5 ER over his past 2 outings (4.2 IP). Davis has reached base safely in 15 straight contests. Saez has multi‐hit games in 3 straight contests, and is now batting .324 as a member of Dunedin.

TRANSACTIONS: RHP Kyle Westwood released from Dunedin roster.

LANSING LUGNUTS (A) –

Lansing: 5 runs, 12 hits, 3 errors West Michigan: 3 runs, 10 hits, 1 error

GAME RECAP: After giving up the lead in the 6th inning, the Lugnuts scored 2 runs in the 11th frame to secure the win. RHP Tom Robson started, allowing 3 ER over 5.0 IP before turning over the game to LHP Dan Lietz with a 1 run lead. Lietz blew the save in the 6th when he allowed the game to get tied up, and was replaced by RHP Starlyn Suriel, who pitched 4.0 perfect innings with 4 . LF Jake Thomas was 2‐5 with a double, a walk, and an RBI, while 2B Gunnar Heidt was 2‐4 with a run scored and a walk.

OF NOTE: Suriel tied his season‐high with 4 strikeouts, and tossed 4.0 innings for the first time in 2016. He has not allowed an ER over his last 4 appearances (8.2 IP). Lietz has blown a save in consecutive outings. He has also allowed 8 ER over his past 3 games (5.1 IP). In his 5 games of 2016, Thomas has recorded a hit in each, multiple hits in 4 of 5, an RBI in 4 of 5, and 3 XBH for a slash line of .435/.500/.609.

TRANSACTIONS: RHP transferred from extended spring to Lansing.
