Jonah Jameson’s Threats & Menaces website, where subscribers could watch the world through Spidey’s eyes and even suggest actions and jokes. It ended up being a problem, so Spidey cut TNM off. One of Peter’s roommates, Randy Robertson, just decided to move in with his girlfriend (Janice Lincoln, A.K.A. super villain the Beetle) who just so happens to be the daughter of Tombstone, the archenemy of Randy’s dad, Joe “Robbie” Robertson. Peter’s other roommate, Fred Myers, A.K.A. reformed super villain Boomerang, showed he wasn’t so reformed and duped Spider-Man into procuring the pieces of the Lifeline Tablet. Spidey worked really hard to help Fred, even calling on former Avengers teammates, but Fred gave the tablet to Mayor Wilson Fisk, A.K.A. the Kingpin, who used it to resurrect his son, Richard Fisk, A.K.A. the Rose. Meanwhile, Norman Osborn, now in charge of the Ravencroft Institute for the Criminally Insane, realized that the hellishly powerful villain Kindred was really his son, Harry Osborn. To save Harry, Norman teamed up with the Kingpin and captured Kindred. Kingpin helped, hoping Kindred’s power could resurrect HIS son, but not even sorcerer Baron Mordo could force Kindred to aid his quest. Now that Kingpin found other means, what will become of Harry Osborn? This relationship has also informed superhero comics themselves – going all the way back to Superman’s debut in Action Comics 1 (June 1938).     Richard Marsh’s The Beetle (1897): a late-Victorian popular novel by Minna Vuohelainen Birkbeck, University of London This paper deals with the publication history and popular appeal of a novel which, when first published in 1897, was characterised by contemporary readers and reviewers as “surprising and ingenious”, “weird”, “thrilling”, “really exciting”, “full of mystery” and “extremely powerful”. According to reviewers, this “well-written” story was “narrated with a clearness of style and a fullness of incident which hold the reader’s attention from first to last”. Compared favourably to the work of Wilkie Collins and Bram Stoker, this novel was presented “with hideous actuality”, was “difficult, if not impossible, to lay down… when once begun” and succeeded “in producing that sensation of horror which should make the flesh of even the least susceptible reader creep” (“Opinions of the Press”). Given the recent scholarly interest in late-nineteenth-century popular fiction, one would expect to find such a thrilling novel the subject of ample academic attention. Yet Richard Marsh’s popular potboiler The Beetle: A Mystery is now only known to readers of cult fiction and collectors of rare books. First published in 1897, almost simultaneously with Bram Stoker’s Dracula with which it makes a remarkable comparison, Marsh’s bestselling shocker has been sadly neglected by post-war readers. This paper examines its immense initial popularity, critical history and slow decline, locating the novel within a specific context of time and readership. The Beetle, though but little-known, is the only novel for which its author is now remembered at all.

Upon meeting the seemingly cured Jerry, Peter’s Spider-Sense went off, prompting him to investigate New U. There, he uncovered the dark truth: Ben has cloned nearly everyone who has died in Spider-Man’s life, from friends and loved ones like Gwen Stacy, Captain Stacy, and Jean DeWolff, to his worst enemies like Doctor Octopus and the Green Goblin, hoping to convince Peter to use Parker Industries’ reach to make New U global.

Tombstone. Madame Masque and the Crime Master ambushed Randy and Janice at Peter’s apartment and were holding them hostage when Peter and Fred returned. A fight ensued, and the apartment was blown open!     PRIVILEGED ATTORNEY-CLIENT COMMUNICATION EXECUTIVE SUMMARY SECOND AMENDED AND RESTATED LICENSE AGREEMENT (“SPIDER-MAN”) CREATIVE ISSUES This memo summarizes certain terms of the Second Amended and Restated License Agreement (“Spider-Man”) between SPE and Marvel, effective September 15, 2011 (the “Agreement”). 1. CHARACTERS AND OTHER CREATIVE ELEMENTS: a. Exclusive to SPE: . The “Spider-Man” character, “Peter Parker” and essentially all existing and future alternate versions, iterations, and alter egos of the “Spider- Man” character. All fictional characters, places structures, businesses, groups, or other entities or elements (collectively, “Creative Elements”) that are listed on the attached Schedule 6. All existing (as of 9/15/11) characters and other Creative Elements that are “Primarily Associated With” Spider-Man but were “Inadvertently Omitted” from Schedule 6. The Agreement contains detailed definitions of these terms, but they basically conform to common-sense meanings. If SPE and Marvel cannot agree as to whether a character or other creative element is Primarily Associated With Spider-Man and/or were Inadvertently Omitted, the matter will be determined by expedited arbitration. Its uniquely interwoven narrative provides auspicious grounds for scholarly consideration. The franchise conscientiously presents larger-than-life superheroes as complex and incredibly emotional individuals who form profound interpersonal relationships with one another. This thesis explores Sarah Hagelin’s concept of resistant vulnerability, which she defines as a “shared human experience,” as it manifests in the substantial relationships that Steve Rogers (Captain America) cultivates throughout the Captain America narrative (11). This project focuses on Steve’s relationships with the following characters: Agent Peggy Carter, Natasha Romanoff (Black Widow), and Bucky Barnes (The Winter Soldier).
