1. Recap of the Previous Meeting
• Continuous decrease of COVID-19 cases in Malawi: the National Logistic Cluster continues to monitor the situation and offers support to partners • Installation of MSUs at the Dzaleka refugee camp to support UNCHR’s vaccination campaign • LSR dispatches by DoDMA to two of the 16 beneficiary districts have commenced • National Preparedness Action Plan: Updates on non-operational airstrips by Sam Kalua (Department of Civil Aviation) https://logcluster.org/countries/MWI

2. National Response Updates
• Current funding situation: ▪ Shortage of funding: $800,000 required for the National Logistics Cluster to continue providing its services to the beneficiaries ▪ $395,000 received from the Government of Iceland ▪ $500,000 received from the SDG Acceleration
• Key logistics services provided in the past two weeks: ▪ Deployment of 5 MSUs for the Malawi Blood Transfusion Services (MBTS) in Blantyre, Mzuzu and Lilongwe ▪ Support to UNHCR with the transportation of MSU’s from Dzaleka Refugee Camp
• Weekly Priorities: ▪ Erection of 4 large MSUs at the Mzuzu Central Hospital: Sanitation facilities and concrete slabs are currently under construction and are expected to be completed by the end of May ▪ Procurement of inventory for the 5 container labs which will be installed at the border posts ▪ Completion of the site handover of the first container lab in Dedza • 44 organisations supported

3. LOG:IE UPDATES
• Log:ie stands for Logistics Information Exchange • Developed by the Global Logistics Cluster • Malawi has been selected as one of the pilot countries for Log:ie to be rolled out • The goal is to combine logistics information from various sources and to make it accessible to all humanitarian logistics stakeholders in Malawi • Data are derived from global and national sources as well as reports from the field • Editing and validation process required as everyone can submit a report and the approved data is accessible for anybody • Recently updated information layers: roads, bridges, food distribution points, Traditional Authorities • Roll out process still on-going: need for feedback
4. Lean Season Response Updates
• WFP supported districts: ▪ Dispatches to Mangochi district are at 100% ▪ Dispatches to Chikhwawa district are at 100% ▪ Dispatches to Blantyre district are at 100% ▪ Dispatches to Lilongwe district are at 100% ▪ Dispatches to Salima district are at 100% ▪ Overall, 100% of the period requirement has been dispatched • Dispatches by DoDMA to the other 16 beneficiary districts have commenced: ▪ Dispatches to Likoma and additional dispatches to Chikwana are at 100% ▪ Remaining dispatches are on hold due to internal human resource challenges
