In addition, Sheila Reid became the first person to ever double up in the 1500 meters and the 5000 1990 Sonia O’Sullivan 3000 Meters 8:56.27 meters when she won both titles in 2011. Vicki Huber Holds All-Time 5000 Meters Record Carole Zajac Named NCAA Most Outstanding Cross Country Runner

The women’s national championship race was a 5,000 In conjunction with its 25th anniversary of women’s meter competition from 1981-99. Villanova star Vicki championships, the NCAA selected Carole Zajac as its Most Outstanding Cross Country Athlete in 2005. Huber ran the fastest-ever 5K at the championships in 1989, when she won the individual title with a time of Zajac won back-to-back NCAA individual titles in 1992 15:59.86. and 1993. She was a four-time All-American for the Wildcats and was a part of four straight national cham- pion teams from 1991-94. Zajac also won the BIG EAST individual crown in 1992.
