In order to obtain a hypothesis of relationships, we used maximum parsimony and model-based methods with 4435 bp of DNA sequences from mitochondrial and nuclear genes for 179 taxa (130 genera and eight out-groups). We estimated dates of origin and diversification for major clades, and performed a biogeographic analysis using a dispersal–vicariance framework, in order to infer a scenario of the biogeographical history of the group. We found long-branch taxa that affected the accuracy of all three methods. Moreover, different methods produced incongruent phylogenies. We found that Satyrini appeared around 42 Mya in either the Neotropical or the Eastern Palaearctic, Oriental, and/or Indo-Australian regions, and underwent a quick radiation between 32 and 24 Mya, during which time most of its component subtribes originated. Several factors might have been important for the diversification of Satyrini: the ability to feed on grasses; early habitat shift into open, non-forest habitats; and geographic bridges, which permitted dispersal over marine barriers, enabling the geographic expansions of ancestors to new environ- ments that provided opportunities for geographic differentiation, and diversification. -

In total, 77 species from 13 families have been identified. Their seasonal occurrence in this habitat was also investigated, with most species recorded in wet season between September and April, but with clear peak in February and March. The family Noctuidae was by far the most speciose (38 recorded species), followed by Crambidae (8 spp.), Sphingidae (6 spp.) and Arctiidae (4 spp.). All other families were represented by 1–3 species. For each species listed date of collection is given, and data on its global distribution. Docume ntation of information was done on biodiversity of harmful insect fauna in chickpea ecosystem collected in light trap at Jabalpur. Standard design of Jawahar light trap with 80 W mucury vapor lamp was used to record the insect catches in chickpea crop from September 2012 to April 2013. Data was classified on taxonomic and economic aspect as crop pests. In all 51 species of insects were collected during the cropping season of chickpea. These insect species belongs to 6 insect orders and 23 families. Lepidoptera was the largest order with 30 species. Other major orders were Hemiptera (9 species), Coleoptera (4 species) and Orthoptera (6 species). Isoptera (1 species) & Diptera, (1 species)were the other orders of minor significance. Based on economic importance this collection was represented by 51 species of harmful insects. China with description of two new subspecies (Lepidoptera, Nymphalidae, Satyrinae) by SONG-YUN LANG Received 21.VIII.2016 Abstract: Some species of the genus Lethe HÜBNER, 1819 from China have been studied in this paper. The taxonomy of the L. nigrifascia LEECH, 1890-group is discussed. Two new subspecies, L. nigrifascia lojishana subspec. nov. and L. armandina yanbiana subspec. nov. from S.W. Sichuan, are described. Lethe armandina jianqingi LANG, 2016 is raised to specific status, viz.L. jianqingi LANG, 2016 stat. nov. Zophoessa baoshana HUANG, WU & YUAN, 2003 is transferred to the genus Lethe HBN., viz. L. baoshana (HUANG, WU & YUAN, 2003) comb. nov., and it is the second known record of this poor known species. Lethe baoshana (HUANG, WU & YUAN, 2003) comb. nov. and L. gregoryi WATKINS, 1927 are recorded from the fauna of Sichuan for the first time. Materials: Materials studied in this paper were mainly collected by the author from his trip to Sichuan Province (Shimian County, Puge County, Yanbian County, Nanjiang County) and S. Shaanxi Province (Ningshan County) in 2016 and are kept in SONG-YUN LANG’s collection, Shuangliu, Chengdu, Sichuan, China (LSY). All type specimens in this study are also deposited in Coll. -

Moths are the most vulnerable organism, with slight environmental changes. Erebidae, Crambidae and Geometridae are the most abundant families throughout the year. The Coonoor Forestdale area was showed a number of new records and seems to supporting an interesting the monotypic moth species have been recorded. Noctuoidea are the largest superfamily of Lepidoptera which have not yet fully investigated in Iran. In order to inventories such important group, faunistic studies on the families Erebidae, Nolidae and Euteliidae were made by light traps mainly in the three Iranian provinces of Fars, Khuzestan and Khorasan-e-Razavi during 2009-2011. Totally, 42 taxa belonging to 26 genera and 7 subfamilies were collected. Among these, one species – Drasteria kusnezovi (John, 1910) – is newly reported for the Iranian fauna, together with 23 new provincial records. For all species, illustrations of adults and their genitalia are given with remarks. KEY WORDS: fauna, Noctuoidea, new record, Drasteria, distribution.
