DAY 1 – Monday MD Your tour begins with mini coach pick up in the morning from your home. Morning tea stop provided by Kiama Scenic Tours en-route. Travel south down the Hume Highway. Lunch stop at venue of driver’s choice (own expense). In the afternoon we will then check in to our accommodation for our overnight stay, Comfort Inn Sovereign Gundagai. Two Course Dinner served onsite at motel. Accommodation: Comfort Inn Sovereign Gundagai Ph 02 6944 1655 DAY 2 - Tuesday BMD Breakfast provided at motel Check out and departure from our motel at Gundagai this morning. We head down the Hume Highway again, through Tarcutta and Holbrook. Morning tea stop to be provided by Kiama Scenic Tours en-route. Lunch stop at venue of driver’s choice during the day (own expense). Mid-afternoon we arrive at Shepparton, part of the . We will make our way to the visitor centre, where a local guide will hop aboard the coach for a one hour guided tour around the town. We will check in to our accommodation for our 2 night stay in the town, Wyndhamere Motel Shepparton. Two Course Dinner served onsite at motel. Accommodation: Wyndhamere Motel Shepparton Ph 03 5821 3088 DAY 3 - Wednesday BMLD Hot Breakfast provided at motel Depart the motel this morning and head to the Shepparton Motor Museum. The museum is home to over 100 classic, vintage and veteran cars, muscle cars, pedal car, trucks and motorcycles. Your visit will include a talk on arrival, followed by time to browse at your own leisure. Quick morning tea stop will be provided by Kiama Scenic Tours. We then head to Nagambie where we will meet the Goulburn Explorer River Cruiser. What better way to experience the beauty of the Goulburn River than by cruising along its waters in style. Your 2 hour cruise will include an onboard lunch of assorted sandwiches, fruit platter and tea/coffee. At the conclusion of the cruise we head back through Nagambie township where you will see on your left the full-size bronze statue of the great racehorse Black Caviar. Undefeated in 25 starts, the great mare was foaled at the nearby Gilgai Farm. Return to Shepparton for a free afternoon in the town. Two Course Dinner served onsite at motel. We make our way to Elmore to visit the Rural Discovery Centre ‘Campaspe Run’. Why Campaspe Run? The Campaspe is the local river and ‘Run’ is an old term for a sheep or cattle farm. The discovery centre allows you to go back to the time of one of Australia’s great rural pioneers inventor HV McKay. Your visit today will include museum entry (including movie on the history of

the McKays), wool spinning demonstration, milk separating, rope making and

shearing. Tea, coffee and biscuits included for morning tea.

It is then time to make our way to Confectionary Capers, which combines a number of visually captivating, quirky, whimsical and intriguing machines. Your visit will include an introductory talk, demonstration and then a chance to wander the wonder displays. Lunch today will be provided at the Farmers Arms Hotel, Junortoun (included) After lunch we head to Bendigo, where our first visit will be to Bendigo Pottery. Operating continuously since 1858, it is Australia’s oldest working pottery. Your visit today will include self-guided tour, introduction by staff, entry to the interpretive museum and formal demonstration. DAY 5 – Friday BLD Cooked Breakfast provided at motel Today we explore Bendigo and its gold rush history. First stop is a guided surface tour at Central Deborah Gold Mine. Dominated by a huge 22 metre high poppet head, the surface of the mine is a highlight in itself as it contains so many original buildings and equipment that were essential to the operation of Central Deborah in its mining days. It is now time to board the Vintage Talking Tram, which will provide you with commentary on Bendigo’s golden history. Hop off at the Joss House Temple. A Chinese place of worship constructed in the 1870s, at the temple you will discover Chinese beliefs and the story of the Chinese who came to Bendigo in search of gold. Back on the tram again as we make our way back to the Central Deborah Mine where a lunch of pastry, slice and tea/coffee will be served. After lunch we will visit Golden Dragon Museum, the Chinese Cultural Centre of Australia, for a guided tour. The remainder of the afternoon is free for you to spend in Bendigo. DAY 6 – Saturday BMLD Cooked Breakfast provided at motel Check out and departure from our motel at Bendigo this morning. We head to historic Castlemaine, a bustling town renowned for its rich gold rush history. Upon arrival our guide will join us on the coach for one hour tour, highlighting the town’s notable landmarks. Quick morning tea stop will be provided by Kiama Scenic Tours, then you will have free time to explore the town. Travel to the small town of Maryborough where we will have lunch at the Railway Café. Lunch includes assorted wraps, sandwiches and tea/coffee. After lunch we will be joined by a guide on board the coach to take us around the town and share the history of the town and the station. Travel on to Stawell where we will check in to our accommodation for 2 nights, Magdala Motor Lodge. Two Course Dinner served onsite at motel. DAY 7 – Sunday BMLD Cooked Breakfast provided at motel Today we head into the Grampians. Tour guide, Noel Nicholls, will join us for the whole day as we explore the Gariwerd Aboriginal Cultural Landscape. Our first stop will be the Brambuk Aboriginal Cultural Centre and National Park at . Famous for its rugged mountains, spectacular waterfalls, wildflowers, wildlife and aboriginal rock art site – this park is unique among Australia’s National Parks. Your visit to the centre will include a welcome to country, where you will learn more about the traditional people Gariwerd, the Djab Wurrung and Jardwidjarli through a guided tour. You will also view two films in the Gariwerd Dreaming Theatre. It’s then back on the coach as we make our way through the Grampians. Noel will take us to all the best spots and provide history and knowledge of the area. Enjoy the spectacular views when we stop at the wonderful Reed Lookout and McKenzie Falls. After climbing through the mountains we arrive at the town of Wartook, located on ‘the sunset side’ of the Grampians. A light lunch of soup and sandwiches with tea/coffee will be included at the local Wander Inn. In the afternoon we make our way to Sylvania Park Mohair Goat Farm. The working farm visit will give you a chance to learn about the history and husbandry of the appealing animals. The onsite shop offers a variety of items to purchase made from the beautiful mohair. Light refreshments included. If time permits we will drop into Old Dadswell Town. Return to our accommodation at Stawell late afternoon. Two Course Dinner served onsite at motel. DAY 8 – Monday BMD Cooked Breakfast provided at motel Check out and departure from our motel at Stawell this morning as we make the journey through to Albury. Travel south where we will do a drive through Ararat township. Morning tea to be provided by Kiama Scenic Tours en-route. We will then travel through to Seymour for lunch (your expense). While in Seymour you will have an opportunity to view the Vietnam Veterans Commemorative Walk, commemorating the service of all who played their part in Australia’s history. If time permits we will also drop in to Chiltern, a peaceful haven nestled in the hills of the Chiltern-Mt Pilot National Park. DAY 9 – Tuesday BM Cooked Buffet Breakfast provided at motel Check out and departure from our motel at Albury. Kiama Scenic Tours to provide morning tea en-route. Lunch stop taken along the way at venue of driver’s choice (your expense) Return to your home late afternoon.
