10 Horn Unions: Daniel 7:24 “The ten horns are ten kings Who shall arise from this kingdom. And another shall rise after them; He shall be different from the first ones, And shall subdue three kings.”

Headline: France and Germany moving towards closer political union Last year Germany went out on a limb by calling for political union in Europe. The idea was met with little enthusiasm elsewhere in the eurozone, but particularly in France. After the election of French President Francois Hollande in May, it seemed that views of the EU's foremost political duo could not be further apart. But the mood has since changed and serious plans are underway to create – if not a full political union – then something close to it. Watching the evolution from the inside is Thomas Wieser, an Austrian economist who prepares the regular meetings of the eurozone finance ministers. "There will be consultations with the member states in the second half of September in Brussels and I think you will be surprised in the autumn by the degree of movement that will have taken place in some member states,” he tells this website. Economic collapse Revelation 6:5-6 & James 5:1-3- Decline of the Euro “Whereas you saw the feet and toes, partly of potter’s clay and partly of iron, the kingdom shall be divided; yet the strength of the iron shall be in it, just as you saw the iron mixed with ceramic clay. 42 And as the toes of the feet were partly of iron and partly of clay, so the kingdom shall be partly strong and partly fragile. 43 As you saw iron mixed with ceramic clay, they will mingle with the seed of men; but they will not adhere to one another, just as iron does not mix with clay.”

Headline: France: wide debt spreads may justify ECB action The wide sovereign debt spreads of some euro zone nations may justify a market intervention by the European Central Bank in the name of ensuring the smooth transmission of monetary policy, French President Francois Hollande said on Thursday. "The ECB's mandate include price stability and monetary policy. When you see such wide gaps in yields, that could be a justification for an intervention in the name of monetary policy," Hollande told a news conference after meeting with Spanish Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy in Madrid. Headline: Jobless Claims in U.S. Unchanged Last Week at One-Month High More Americans than forecast filed applications for unemployment benefits last week, a sign that progress in the labor market is faltering amid a slowing economy. Jobless claims were little changed at 374,000 in the week ended Aug. 25, matching the upwardly revised figure from the prior week, the Labor Department reported today in Washington. The median forecast of 50 economists surveyed by Bloomberg News called for 370,000. The four-week moving average, a less volatile measure, climbed to a six-week high. Headline: Food Supply Adequate to Forestall Price Crisis, World Bank Says Further weather disruptions or rising energy costs could increase grain costs already at a record, while current supplies may be ample enough to forestall unrest caused by high food prices, the World Bank said. The worst U.S. drought since the 1950s sparked a 10 percent gain in the World Bank’s Food Price Index in July, the organization said today in a monthly report. Corn and soybean prices last month exceeded records in 2008, when food riots erupted in African and Middle Eastern countries. While drought in the former Soviet Union and weak monsoon rains in India are contributing to crop concerns, stable rice prices argue against a crisis situation, the bank said. That could change should energy costs increase or bad weather persist. “World Bank experts do not currently foresee a repeat of 2008,” the multinational organization said in its report. Bans on exports, continued dry weather, poor harvests in South America or higher energy costs would worsen the situation, the bank said. “The jury is still out, for now.”

Headline: The Guns of October’: Report forecasts Gulf war by late 2012 The United States could become involved in a major war in the Gulf in 2012, a report said. The Lexington Institute said Washington and other NATO states could be swept into a war with over the next few months. The Washington-based institute said the military buildup throughout the Gulf lacked only a trigger for the eruption of fighting. “Teheran is expanding, dispersing and hardening its nuclear enrichment program and trying to find a way around sanctions before its domestic economy is crippled,” the report, titled “The Guns of October — in the Persian Gulf,” said. Dated Aug. 24, the report cited the eve of World War I in 1914 when the European powers undertook a massive military buildup. Lexington said Iran, determined to advance its nuclear program, and much of the Gulf, fueled by the high price of energy, were conducting similar activities in preparation of war. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has confirmed 1,590 cases of the mosquito-borne disease and 66 deaths so far this year. Half of the cases are in Texas. Health officials think that cases have peaked or are peaking now, but likely will continue through October. The disease first appeared in the United States in 1999, and health officials say this summer's hot, dry weather may have contributed to the current boom in cases. Headline: Alarming levels of drug-resistant TB found worldwide Headline: ‘Virtually Untreatable’ tuberculosis threat rising, study finds Scientists have found an alarming number of cases of the lung disease tuberculosis in Africa, Asia, Europe and Latin America that are resistant to up to four powerful antibiotic drugs. In a large international study published in the Lancet medical journal on Thursday, researchers found rates of both multi drug-resistant TB (MDR-TB) and extensively drug-resistant TB (XDR- TB) were higher than previously thought and were threatening global efforts to curb the spread of the disease. "Most international recommendations for TB control have been developed for MDR-TB prevalence of up to around 5 percent. Yet now we face prevalence up to 10 times higher in some places, where almost half of the patients ... are transmitting MDR strains," Sven Hoffner of the Swedish Institute for Communicable Disease Control, said in a commentary on the study. TB is already a worldwide pandemic that infected 8.8 million people and killed 1.4 million in 2010. Drug-resistant TB is more difficult and costly than normal TB to treat, and is more often fatal. Headline: California Heatwaves to Move Toward Coastal Areas A new study by researchers at Scripps Institution of Oceanography, UC San Diego, suggests that the nature of California heatwaves is changing due to global warming. Climate researchers Alexander Gershunov and Kristen Guirguis detected a trend toward more humid heatwaves that are expressed very strongly in elevated nighttime temperatures, a trend consistent with climate change projections. Moreover, relative to local warming, the mid- summer heatwaves are getting stronger in generally cooler coastal areas. This carries implications for the millions of Californians living near the ocean whose everyday lives are acclimated to moderate temperatures. Headline: 6.6 earthquake off coast of Greenland A magnitude-6.6 earthquake struck today off the east coast of Greenland, the U.S. Geological Survey reports. The USGS, which initially reported the quake as a magnitude-7.0, says it was followed eight minutes later by a magnitude-5.2 quake in the region. The nearest community to the epicenter is Olonkinbyen, a small weather and radio station on the island of Jan Mayen in the Norwegian Sea about 58 miles to the southeast. The second quake was located 14 miles east of the island. Headline: Major earthquakes strike near north and south poles A powerful 6.8 magnitude earthquake erupted in the Jan Mayen Island region of the Arctic Circle, north of Iceland. The earthquake had a depth of 9.9 km (6.2 miles) and was followed by a 5.2 magnitude aftershock. Seismic turbulence has been increasing in the Arctic Circle in the month of August, as seen from the map above. On August 14, a – 7.7 magnitude earthquake struck in the Sea of Okhotsk near NE Russia. Today’s 6.8 magnitude Arctic earthquake was preceded by double moderate tremors along the Western Indian-Antarctica Ridge in the 5.4 and 5.0 range. The seismic dynamism that has the planet reeling, from pole to pole, increases the potential for most seismic disturbances along the Nazca plate of South America, the Cocos plate, along Central America; and, or the SW region of the U.S. near the Gulf of California, where the Pacific and North American plate are experiencing increased agitation. The jolted area included southeastern Los Angeles County, Orange County and the Inland Empire. The quake occurred in about the same location of an earthquake doublet, two 4.5 quakes that occurred on Aug. 7 at 11:23 p.m. and Aug. 8 at 9:33 a.m. The area was also hit by a 4.0 quake on June 14. Wednesday’s quake, which hit at 1:31 p.m., was located near the center point of the magnitude-5.5 Chino Hills earthquake that reverberated through the Los Angeles Basin in the summer of 2008 Aug. 30, 2012 http://theextinctionprotocol.wordpress.com/2012/08/30/4-1-magnitude-earthquake-strikes-los-angeles-region/

Headline: Typhoon Tembin hits S. Korea South Korea on Thursday was struck by a second typhoon after the powerful one, Typhoon Bolaven, left 27 people dead or missing. Typhoon Tembin was moving northeastward at a speed of 43 kilometers per hour across the southern region as of 6 p.m. (local time) and was forecast to arrive at the sea off the country's east coast late Thursday, according to the Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA). The typhoon, which brought heavy downpours and strong winds to the country reeling from the damage caused by the first storm, killed two, injured three and left 48 people homeless, according to the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA). TV footage showed cars sitting half-submerged on flooded roads in some cities in southern areas. The typhoon cut power supply to hundreds of thousands of households, canceled flights and ferry services, and forced schools to close or adjust class hours, mainly in southern areas. Headline: Louisiana Coast Under Curfew As Issac Makes Landfall Headline: Isaac leaves more than 700,000 without power, forces thousands to evacuate Despite the fact Isaac is a category one hurricane and New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu said the city had “dodged a bullet,” the Army National Guard has dispatched thousands of troops in Louisiana. Officials rushed to evacuate more than 100 nursing home residents from Plaquemines Parish, an area with a reputation for weathering storms and perhaps the hardest hit by Isaac. In this hardscrabble, mostly rural parish, even the sick and elderly are hardened storm veterans. "I don't think we had to evacuate to begin with," said Romaine Dahl, 59, as he sat in a wheelchair. "The weather was a hell of a lot worse last night than it is now. And I got an idea that after all this is said and done they're going to say everything is over with, go on back home." But Thursday officials warned the Governor's Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness and the Tangipahoa Parish government that the dam at Lake Tangipahoa at Percy Quinn State Park is failing. Headline: Iranian Supreme Leader: Israelis are 'Ferocious Zionist Wolves' In yet another outrageously anti-Semitic speech, Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, speaking Thursday at the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) summit, called Israelis “ferocious Zionist wolves who digest the Palestinian people.” United Nations Secretary- General Ban Ki-Moon, who decided to attend the summit in Iran despite a wave of protests calling on him to boycott the event, remained seated throughout the duration of the speech, refraining from showing opposition to the outwardly hateful remarks. In comments made prior to the beginning of the summit, Ban said that he "strongly rejects threats by any member state to destroy another or outrageous attempts to deny historical facts such as the Holocaust," without explicitly mentioning Iran. “Claiming that Israel does not have the right to exist or describing it in racist terms is not only wrong but undermines the very principle we all have pledged to uphold,” Ban said. In a ceremony to honor retired army officers, Kahwagi said the army “is committed to the implementation of a military plan within Lebanon and on the border with Syria, and will strive against the border area becoming a corridor of sedition.” He added that the army would not allow the existence of “security areas or buffer zones beyond the power of the state which would make Lebanon appear partisan in the regional conflict.” Aug. 30, 2012 http://english.al-akhbar.com/content/lebanon-army-vows-maintain-control Egypt Headline: Egypt pulls back some Sinai tanks Egypt on Wednesday withdrew some of the tanks it deployed near the Israeli and Gaza borders as part of a military operation against militants in the Sinai Peninsula. Headline: Syrian Opposition Targets Iranians In Syria, Threatens To Harm Iranian Regime Having long accused Iran of extending assistance, including military assistance, to the Assad regime, the Syrian rebels have begun to act against Iranians in Syria and to regard them and the Iranian regime as legitimate targets. The largest incident occurred on August 4, 2012, when militants from the Free Syrian Army (FSA), the largest organ of the armed Syrian opposition, kidnapped 48 Iranians outside Damascus. The FSA also claims to have assassinated an Iranian diplomat, though the Iranians deny this. In addition, the armed and political Syrian opposition has threatened to harm Iranians staying in Syria and to target the Iranian regime itself. So far, incidents and statements of this sort have been few, but they may represent the beginning of a growing trend. Aug. 30, 2012 http://www.memri.org/report/en/0/0/0/0/0/0/6636.htm

A senior military expert, who asked to remain anonymous, said the elite SAS and SBS troops are in Syria to both gather information about and confiscate those chemical weapons that the government of President Bashar al- Assad decides to use or move, the Daily Star reported. The elite special troops are working alongside those that are dispatched by the British foreign spying apparatus (MI6) to the country in an attempt to gather intelligence about the movement of the Syrian army forces, the expert said. According to the report, American and French troops are also busy working along with MI6 and CIA agents to destabilize Syria and help the foreign-backed terrorists topple the popular government of President Bashar al Assad. Iran/Iraq/Turkey Iran: Jeremiah 49:34-39 Headline: Khamenei: Time for new world order Headline: Khamenei denounces UN Security Council “dictatorship” As Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi visits Iran for first time since 1979, Tehran's spiritual leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei makes scathing speech against West. The world, Khamenei said "Is in transition towards a new international order and the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) can and should play a new role." He further underlined the need for solidarity among all NAM member-states, saying it was an "obvious necessity" in the current era for establishing this new order. Khamenei stressed that Iran "will never pursue nuclear weapons but… will not give up right to nuclear energy," which he called the "given right of every country." Iran, he said, "regards the use of chemical weapons as an unforgivable sin, but it will not forego its right to use peaceful nuclear energy." The Ayatollah then accused the "Zionist regime's henchmen" of committing "any and all crimes" adding that it is aided by the West. Headline: Iraq PM to present Syria plan at Tehran summit Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki was to submit a plan to end Syria's conflict on Thursday based on a halt to violence and formation of a unity government that could include President Bashar al-Assad, his spokesperson said. Maliki was to outline the initiative, under which a Syrian regime figure would negotiate with opposition groups and elections take place under international and Arab League supervision, in a speech to the Non-Aligned summit in Tehran. "This initiative is a developed version of a proposal that Iraq informally presented during the Arab League summit [in Baghdad in March] to some Arab leaders," Maliki's spokesperson Ali Mussawi told AFP by telephone from Tehran. The proposal includes an agreement by all parties in Syria to end violence and a call for all countries to "stop interfering in Syria's internal affairs." It also calls for roundtable talks under Arab League supervision and the formation of an interim unity government which "includes all components of the Syrian people, with all factions agreeing upon who heads the government," Mussawi said. Headline: Turkey: Assad Gave Heavy Weapons to PKK Turkey's ruling AK (Justice and Development) Party has accused Syrian President Bashar al- Assad of “heaving heavy weapons” for Kurdish PKK terrorists in northern Syria. A senior party official was quoted by the Todays Zaman daily newspaper as saying that 'Ankara has reliable intelligence that the Syrian military intentionally left heavy weapons for the PKK when it abandoned areas in northern Syria.' “Bashar al-Assad is acting on the idea that 'my enemy's enemy is my friend.' It is crystal clear that he is taking the PKK under his wing and using it against Turkey,” AK Party deputy chairman Huseyin Celik said Wednesday. Turkish officials said the Syrian government has been aiding the PKK for months, in response to Turkey's criticism of the brutal crackdown on protesters that led to the current civil war. The Arab Spring in Prophecy (Perilous Times Luke 21:9 & Nation against Nation, Kingdom against Kingdom Matt.24:7) (Revelation 6:3-4 Revelation 6:8)

Luke 21:9 and Matthew 24:7 speak of nation against nation and kingdom against kingdom in the end times. Revelation 6:3-4 speaks of the fiery red horse given power to make men slay one another and Revelation 6:8 speaks again of this red horse in conjunction with the pale horse of Death and Hades, as the one that has the power to kill by sword. I like to call this “The Arab Spring in Prophecy” because for us it is easy to identify- that’s what the world calls it. Luke 21:9: wars & commotions; the Greek word here is Akatastasia, meaning instability, a state of disorder, disturbance, confusion (revolutions) Matthew 24:7: the Greek word for nation is Ethnos & refers to various ethnic groups fighting among themselves, where the next sentence in the verse refers to kingdoms (basileiva) fighting one another (not to be confused with an actual kingdom but rather the right or authority to rule over a kingdom) I have tried to separate it into areas that sweep EAST from the point of North America.

Headline: Mali civilians form militia to combat Islamic extremists Some barefoot, others wearing plastic shoes, a ragtag group of Malians shout “one, two, three!” as they throw up their knees high during a military drill. The motley crew of would-be fighters is made up of students, young jobless men and displaced civil servants who fled Mali’s north when Islamic extremists occupied the desert area five months ago. Now these men hope to return — fighting-fit and steeled for battle — to liberate the region they call home, which is in the grip of the jihadists who have enforced strict sharia law. At the makeshift military camp in the small town of Soufouroulaye, near Mopti in central Mali, there are 285 militia volunteers in all joining in the drills, about 30 of them teenagers. “I am a young volunteer,” says one of them, Oumar Toure. “I can’t see a part of my country under control of criminals and not go and fight.” Mopti is the last big town en route to the north, an area larger than France or Texas that was seized by armed Islamist groups allied with Al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb in March and April. The extremists piggy-backed on a Tuareg separatist rebellion which started in January, fueled by former mercenaries from Libya. Together, the militants overwhelmed Mali’s poorly-equipped army, which then launched a coup in the southern capital Bamako that only heightened the chaos and sped up the rebel advance. The Islamists soon pushed out their erstwhile Tuareg allies and have since enforced strict Islamic law while sparking regional and international fears of a new center for radicalism in Africa. Headline: Yemen must end intimidation of southern activists Security forces in Yemen must stop targeting students and other political activists engaged in peaceful protests in the south of the country, Amnesty International said today. There are fears in particular that Aden University student activist Abdul Raouf Hassan Zain al-Saqqaf – who has already been arrested twice this year – may be at risk of arbitrary detention and torture or other ill-treatment before he sits an exam at his university on 3 September. Peaceful political activists in Aden and other parts of southern Yemen face repression from the Yemeni authorities, including widespread intimidation and arbitrary arrests, as well as torture or other ill-treatment in some cases,” said Philip Luther, Amnesty International’s Middle East and North Africa Programme Director. Headline: Italy: Striking miner slashes his wrists on TV The leader of a group of striking Sardinian miners has slashed his wrists in front of television cameras, shocking his work mates. Stefano Meletti was eventually taken to a nearby hospital where doctors said his condition was stable. Around 100 miners have barricaded themselves some 400 metres underground since Sunday in a bid to prevent the mine’s closure. One worker said: “In the last 10 years we have lost 7,000 jobs in Sardinia. We are not willing to loose one more.” The incident happened as journalists were shown where the miners are storing hundreds of kilos of explosives. On Friday, the government is to give its decision over whether to approve an eco-friendly plan to convert the mine, which could secure its future. Until then, the miners say they will remain underground. Aug. 30, 2012 http://www.euronews.com/2012/08/30/italy-striking-miner-slashes-his-wrists-on-tv/
