Another awesome year has begun! The National Western Stock Show was our first performance of the year, and we sure had a good time! A huge THANK YOU to all the PPRR members and their families who came up to watch our run. All tickets purchases for this event were completely sold out! We are already looking at purchasing a larger section for next year!

We had huge crowds in downtown Colorado Springs for the annual St. Patrick’s Day parade and enjoyed a little horsing around with all the great people! If you missed it, don’t worry…you will see us back on the streets of downtown Colorado Springs on July 12, 2016, to kick off the Pikes Peak or Bust Rodeo! Our future this summer is looking to be a good time with a great schedule. Besides opening our own Pikes Peak or Bust Rodeo, we will also be in places like Cripple Creek, Burlington, and Greeley. So, find your favorite Pivot and ask about the schedule! We hope to see you at some of the rodeos around our great state this year!

We would like to shout out a special THANK YOU to Latigo, Norris-Penrose Event Center, and Bar Diamond X Arena for allowing us to practice at their facilities! Your support is much appreciated!!

Thank you to everyone for your continued support and encouragement!

The 2016 Pikes Peak Posse County Fair, State Fair and Sponsors

The Pikes Peak Posse will muster for the ride to the El Paso County Fair Junior Livestock Sale on July 23, 2016, and again for the charge to the Colorado State Fair Sale on August 30, 2016. Thanks to the great support of Mayor John Suthers and Steve Schuck, the 2015 event was a resounding success and promises to be even better this year. We saw lots of new faces in the official Posse attire and the networking and discourse was better than ever. The Posse has made it possible to significantly support the local kids at the El Paso County Fair, while simultaneously building the presence at the State Fair. The 2015 State Fair included about 80 attendees on two buses. Over $30,000 was raised and 12 animals were purchased with the $20,000 budget. This success will jump start the Posse participation in the 2016 El Paso County Fair. The 2015 sponsors included ColoMex, Bank of Colorado, the Gazette, Rampart Distributing, Grayline, Lane Sales, and ByD Designs. Thank you all for your support of the Posse in its mission to support the 4-H and FFA kids at both the El Paso County Fair and the Colorado State Fair. The Posse is appreciative of the important sponsorships to make the event possible. Diedre Smith is the event coordinator for 2016 and has put some new things together. She and the Posse leaders have some improvements in store for this year. Check out the new website at Pikespeakposse.com. Join the Posse for the trips, consider a sponsorship, check out the benefits of membership, and participate in supporting and encouraging the great kids that are engaged in 4-H and FFA.
