Object definition

The light-weight sandwich element system is used in facades, partition walls, roofs and fire walls. The typical application is in industrial buildings, power plants, office buildings, warehouses and different types of clean rooms.

Product description

The light-weight sandwich element system (Panel 3Lock) is a panel with mineral wool insulation. The basic material is a galvanized and paint coated sheet (a possible special coatings are stainless or acid resistance steel).

The steel sheet is manufactured in the Hämeenlinna factory from cold rolled, galvanized and paint coated steel.

Conversion factors Density Density of the steel is 7 850 kg/m3 Mass per m2 The masses and material strength are notified in the product descriptions www.ruukki.com Moisture content 0

Technical properties Material: Galvanized and paint coated steel sheet and mineral wool Covering and thickness PVDF: 27 µm, PVDF HB: 40 µm, PVDF HB + L: 55 µm, PVDF HIARC: 60 µm, Polyester: 25 µm, Insulation Rock wool (nominal density 115-120 kg/m3), Glass wool (nominal density 80 kg/m3) Length Maximum length is 12 000 mm Effective width 1 200 mm Thickness class of the 80, 100, 125, 150, 175, 200 mm element Strength of the steel Strength of the steel common 0,6 (0,7) mm. Mass of the galvanised coating is 275 g/m2

RT-Environmental declaration is based on the national methodology following the basic principles stated in the ISO standard series 14040 and 14020. The method considers also the preliminary results achieved within ISO CD 21930. It is developed in cooperation with Confederation of Finnish Construction Industries RT, The Building Information Foundation RTS, VTT Technical Research Centre of and companies of construction business.

FINAL DISPOSAL

Recycling - An undamaged sandwich -element can be used again in a less demanding application. A damaged Sandwich -element can be demolished when the steel is 100 percent recyclable and the clean wool can be used to manufacture mineral wool. - More information available at Ruukki and the mineral wool manufacturer.

Energy use

Waste treatment - All packaging materials are recyclable. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION - When calculating the environmental profile for this product the 90 % recycling level of steel was taken into account. The recycling of steel was taken into account by allocating part of the primary steel productions environmental effects to the recycled steel. - The effect of the recycling has been calculated from IISI’s (International Steel and Iron Institution) LCA data so that the compensation is the difference between primary and secondary production of steel slab perceived with the acquisition of the recycling process - 1,07 kg of recycled steel is needed to produce 1 kg of steel in the secondary production.
