2021 Coralville 4Th of July Parade, July 4Th at 12 Pm 2021 Coralville 4th of July Parade, July 4th at 12 pm Theme: Celebrating the historic Iowa River Power Building at 1st Avenue and 5th Street along the Iowa River GENERAL INFORMATION Thank you for participating in the 2021 Coralville 4thFest Parade! Make the most of your show time and decorate like crazy – the crowd and the 4thFest Committee love it! Remember, awards will be given for; Best Interpretation of Theme, Grand Marshal Award, Most Patriotic and Best Walking Group! LiFEchurch has once again been gracious enough to open their doors starting at 10:00 am on the morning of the parade. Restrooms, water and a place to cool down will be available inside and there will be an information booth for the parade next to LiFEchurch. PARKING It is important to park in the Hy-Vee/Hobby Lobby parking lot or a nearby lot; only vehicle entries in the parade should be in the staging area at the McGregor’s/LiFEchurch parking lot. PARADE LINEUP Entries must be in place by 11 am in the McGregor’s/LiFEchurch parking lot. The parade starts promptly at 12 pm. Enter the staging area from 23rd Ave. (west side of the McGregor’s/LiFEchurch parking lot). Know your number in line! It is listed on the following page and is subject to change. If your entry is in red, line up on 22nd Ave, north of the staging lot, and enter from the north side of 22nd Ave. This street will be closed by 11 am. Entry numbers will be posted around the staging area. Volunteers will be at the entrances to help direct you and there will be an information booth next to LiFEchurch. A map of the staging area is included as an attachment to the email. IMPORTANT NOTES DURING THE PARADE For the safety of the children and so vehicles can smoothly enter the parade route, 22nd Ave. is a NO CANDY ZONE! Please DO NOT throw candy until the official parade start, on 9th Street. Keep the pace! Stay two car lengths behind the entry in front of you – not more! You can hand things out, but do not stop the parade – performances must be quick and simple! If you fall behind, please catch up! Parade gaps can be dangerous! Be careful when driving the route. Watch for children; they will want to enter the road. Walk to the crowd at the curb to hand things out. Never encourage spectators to enter the street! Please put your cell phones away; cell phone use (including talking, texting, or taking videos/photos) is prohibited when driving a vehicle, riding an animal, or cycling in the parade. The parade route is over 2 miles long. Be sure to bring water for the route! Do not squirt water at spectators; this is important for safety reasons. Keep it safe; no open flames on entries, all floats must be secure. Keep pets safe; Inadequate shade, water, and rest on a hot day puts pets at risk for overheating. The pavement may be too hot for a pet’s feet through the parade route. Before including any animals in your entry, see the guidelines at www.coralville.org/4thFestParade (“Animals in the Parade” tab). Please respect the “limited noise” section of the parade route. CoralVision (Mediacom Channel 5 and 118-8 in Coralville) will video the parade in front of the Recreation Center for rebroadcast, and stream live on www.facebook.com/Coralville4thFest, so be ready with your best performance; they will have a list of entries and provide commentaries. Programs that are handed out the day of the parade have been donated by Pearson. Thank you Pearson, CoralVision, and our commentators – Rex Brandstatter and Herb Staub! IF HOT: You may drop out at 18th Avenue toward the end and wait there for your ride. SPONSORS A big thank you to LiFEchurch for use of their parking lot and to all of the other 4thFest sponsors who make this possible! Because of their generosity, the 4thFest parade does not charge entry fees. FOR MORE INFORMATION Contact Minda Hamann at 319.594.8107. You will receive a picture as a thank you for participating in the 4thFest parade. Have fun and be safe! Thank you! Minda Hamann, 4thFest Committee, Parade Chair Parade Route: Limited noise section of the parade: An area is designated a "limited noise section" of the route on 5th Street from the fire station west until the end of S.T. Morrison Park. To assist those with hearing and sensory needs, do not use sirens or horns in this section of the parade. The area will be marked with signs. Note: While parade organizers make every effort to communicate this to parade entries, we cannot guarantee any section of the parade will be noise free. • Minnesota Wild Announces Multi-Year Affiliation Agreement with Iowa Heartlanders
For Immediate Release Contacts: Aaron Sickman (651) 602-6009 Thursday, June 17, 2021 Megan Kogut (651) 312-3439 MINNESOTA WILD ANNOUNCES MULTI-YEAR AFFILIATION AGREEMENT WITH IOWA HEARTLANDERS SAINT PAUL, Minn. – The National Hockey League’s (NHL) Minnesota Wild today announced a multi-year ECHL affiliation agreement with the Iowa Heartlanders beginning with the 2021-22 season. “We are thrilled to announce a new ECHL affiliation agreement with the Iowa Heartlanders,” said Minnesota Wild General Manager Bill Guerin. “We look forward to being a part of the Heartlanders inaugural season and helping grow the great sport of hockey while also having the opportunity to develop players at both the AHL and ECHL level in Iowa. This is an exciting day for our organization.” Under the affiliation agreement, the Heartlanders will serve as a resource for the development efforts and personnel needs of both the Iowa and Minnesota Wild. The agreement allows Wild prospects to be assigned to the Heartlanders for developmental purposes throughout the season. Minnesota’s primary development affiliate is the Iowa Wild in the American Hockey League (AHL). “We are excited to enter into this affiliation agreement with the Minnesota Wild and their AHL affiliate the Iowa Wild. We share the Wild’s vision on player development and look forward to being a link in the development chain and helping prepare prospects for promotion within the system,” said Iowa Heartlanders President Brian McKenna. “Geographically, the distance between St. Paul, Des Moines and Coralville will make player movement much easier. Beyond that, we look forward to working with the Iowa Wild to promote the sport within the state and grow hockey at the grassroots level.” The Iowa Heartlanders is the state’s first ECHL team and was approved by the League’s Board of Governors for expansion in January 2021.

Rugby League as a Televised Product in the United States of America By Mike Morris Abstract Rugby league is a form of rugby that is more similar to American football than its more globally popular cousin rugby union. This similarity to the United States of America’s most popular sport, that country’s appetite for sport, and its previous acceptance of foreign sports products makes rugby league an attractive product for American media outlets to present and promote. Rugby league’s history as a working-class sport in England and Australia will appeal to American consumers hungry for grit and authenticity from their favorite athletes and teams.
