Earl Guinn Retires The 1974-75 school year marked the end of a 23 year old presidency. Dr. G. Earl Guinn resigned in Feb., 1975 to become a professor at Southern Seminary in Kentucky. Inauguration Day June 13, 1952. The fourth president is presented the gavel. Dr. Guinn and L.C. students gathered around a piano to sing Christmas carols — I 972, 14 as President Feb. 1, 1975 The 1975 Pine Knot is joined by students and faculty of Louisiana College in dedicating this publication to Dr. G. Earl Guinn. A special chapel service was held in December, 1974 to honor Dr. Guinn. Gifts were presented to both Dr. and Mrs. Guinn from various campus groups. The B.S.U. Carnival is an annual event to raise money to sponsor the summer missionary from L.C. Dean Heath's son trying to reach the top of the ladder and the money wait ing there. 39 Winterterm '75 Mr. Allen, area resident, talks to the "Look What We Dug Up" class about some of the fossil specimens found by the students. Winterterm was a new expe rience for LC students. Three weeks of concentrated study allowed students to take three hours during the long Christmas break. Courses were varied with several being off campus . Egypt, Paris, Mexico or closer to home: Florida, Wash ington, D.C., Texas, and Arkan sas. The courses offered were those not primarily available during the regular school year. *2M *K!
