I have seen many restorations and this ranks in the top percentage of cars relating to originality and quality restoration. This vehicle was built at St. Louis Assembly Plant. The GTX was to be an exceptional blend of style and performance. What differentiated it from a normal Belvedere was its special grille and rear fascia, shared with the Satellite, chrome "pit stop" fuel filler cap and optional racing stripes. For the performance aspect of the vehicle, a heavy duty suspension system was made standard. Standard also was Plymouth's 440 cu in (7.2 L) V8 called the "Super Commando 440". The engine was rated at 375 hp . Buyers in 1967 could pay an extra $546 and replace the 440 with Chrysler's 426 cu in (7.0 L) Hemi. The 426 was nicknamed the "Elephant." The B platform or B-body was the name of Chrysler's midsize rear-wheel drive passenger car platform from 1962 through 1979. The 1967 B bodies continue to increase in value. The Hemi powered Dodge and Plymouth cars are increasingly becoming one of the most sought after US domestic built cars on earth. The Hemi B bodies have always commanded higher prices than any other like pony/muscle car by any other manufacturer. The rarity, collectability, combined with exceptional quality of the restoration makes this Plymouth GTX a solid A grade investment based on the following points: Known owner history Well documented Date correct engine Date correct 4 speed transmission with Inland shifter Color combination: Blue exterior and interior Original B body with an excellent foundation that is rust free The originality of: o Exterior sheet metal and paint o Chassis, frame and floor pans Vehicle Reference Information Comments Updated Report Date TBD in the future Report Date: 1/12/16 Original Physical Inspection Date: 12/28/15 Vehicle Year/Make/Model 1967 Plymouth GTX Hemi Original Selling Dealer Unknown at this time Original Vehicle Price Unknown at this time Delivery Date to the original owner Unknown at this time Mile showing that appears to be original 40,615.5 Estimated vehicle production 1 of ~45 hard top 4 speeds. • My First Car, a 1958 Plymouth Belvedere 2 Door HT with a 318 Motor and Automatic Transmission
February 2016 Plymouth Is Out To Win You Over! much about the freezing rain and ice. Now that I’m President: older I just wish it would all go away. As a matter of Dean Yates fact I could do without winter all together except for [email protected] Christmas, my wife’s birthday in January, and my Grandson Luke’s birthday in February. I know, I’m Vice President: just sitting here trying to make things better when Rockey Rozell God has made ALL things perfect. Please forgive me [email protected] and I will move on. Secretary/Membership: Greg Errett Thinking back to Valentine Day reminds me of my [email protected] first new car. My first car was a 1958 Plymouth Belvedere 2 Dr HT and what a beautiful car she was. Treasurer: It was red with a white/gray interior, 318 ci, and 3 Joe Brown speed automatic (yes! I had a Christine car before the [email protected] book or the movie). I had driven this car for about 5 years, and loved every minute of it. I was now out Activities / Webpage / Newsletter: of school, and had a good paying job when the 1967 Dean Yates Plymouths came out. The draft board now had me [email protected] classified 1Y because of a kidney stone (yes I even http://clubs.hemmings.com/carolinaplymouth had them back then) so I started looking to upgrade my ride as fins were out and horsepower was in. All the ads in the magazines and on television were telling me that ‘Plymouth Is Out To Win You Over’ well that had already happen with the dated but still nice red ’58.

This paragraph certainly gets directly to the issue we are dealing with. We are to promote the AUTHENTIC restoration of Plymouths and Fargo vehicles. That means we need to judge these cars against a standard of a factory shipped car. Original Plymouths did not come from the factory with modern modifications. Changes made due to state safety requirements are acceptable, such as safety glass, seat belts and turn signals. If any vehicle has been modified in such a way as to obviously alter horse power, and components to include; rear end, transmission, suspension, electrical system, sheet metal, such as a street rod, it shall be ineligible for judging.
