October 2015 Plymouth Builds Great Cars! President: The first weekend was the Labor Day holiday and for Dean Yates the Yates family that means camping at Dan Nicholas [email protected] Park with grandson Luke. Now Luke is only three but that boy has more energy. He kept both Tanya Vice President: and I running all weekend. Below are few pictures Keith Mitchem [email protected] taken on our most enjoyable holiday weekend. Secretary: Your Name Here Treasurer: Joe Brown [email protected] Membership: Greg Errett [email protected] Activities / Webpage / Newsletter: Dean Yates [email protected] http://clubs.hemmings.com/carolinaplymouth Three Year Old Luke Working On His Golf Game 1928 Plymouth <-> 2001 Plymouth A Note From The President The month of September always seems to be a very busy month for car people in the Carolinas. Even though we moved our annual MOPAR car show this year from September back to June it still has been a very active month. Picture Taken On One Of Our Many Nature Walks The next week I have no idea what took place. I’m sure that I was resting up from the past week of camping with a 3 year old. The third weekend was the Z-Max NHRA drag race at the Charlotte Motor Speedway racing complex. Several of our Club members were there and we all enjoyed two days of great racing but boy was it hot. As good as the racing was I think we spent most of our time looking for a cool place to cool down. Dean Checking Out The New RAM Rebel Dean, Rockey, And John Found A Cool Spot Yes, There Was Some Great Racing The next Thursday there was a large Tom Mack Auto Auction at the Metrolina Expo. I had planned to attend because of a 1960 Plymouth Fury with a 413ci and Cross Ram. Shortly after I got there I bumped into Rockey and we both stayed to the end at around 7:30pm. No, I did not buy the ’60 Fury; Yes, it did Rockey’s 1970 Plymouth GTX sale, and needless to say it is now on its way to Sweden where all the money must be. Dean’s 1964 Plymouth Valiant 1960 Plymouth 413ci Cross Ram It was raining the day of the auction and it was also raining on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday; as a matter of fact, it rained every day for the next week and half. As much rain as we got here in North Carolina it was nothing to what our southern brothers got in South Carolina. Both Saturday and Sunday was our Club car display at the AutoFair, and yes it was a wet one. We did manage to have ten cars on Saturday and seven on Sunday. We were located up under the stands both days so we were able to keep dry but with it raining most of the time no one was able to get out to do any car looking or parts hunting. I was unable to get any pictures taken on Sunday but below are a few pictures taken during the Saturday Fall AutoFair. Thanks to all those brave souls for bringing their cars out during this rainy weekend. Rockey’s 1965 Dodge Dart Harold’s 1970 Plymouth Fury III David’s 1965 Dodge Coronet Jonny’s 1940 Plymouth Dean, His 1964 Plymouth Valiant, And Mike Joy The next weekend we were back at the North Carolina Transportation Museum where Thomas and Percy were in town. Yes it was still raining but we had a blast with Luke; Toot Toot. October Birthdays: Sherry Deliso David Duncan Ken Furr Synthia Furr Carolyn Hardin Keith Mitchem Matthew Nagem Thomas, Percy, And Luke Barbara Reeves Terry Richards Back with us again is Mike Bucket and another Terri Richards installment of ‘Recollections of a RAMCHARGER’.
