Each year, Virginia Tech hosts thousands of special events on campus that require a change in parking and traffic regulations. Some of the regularly scheduled events that have the most significant impact include athletics events, including football and basketball games, commencement each December and May, and events at the Moss Arts Center. Reminders are shared in Virginia Tech news and by email in advance of major events.
To accommodate the increased volume of vehicular traffic on Maintenance Lot (off Southgate Drive) campus, the following parking and traffic changes are in place Perry Street Lot #3 for home football games. Vehicles not removed may be towed. WEEKDAY GAMES Track/Field House Lot (on Beamer Way) The following lots are restricted to no new parking beginning Stadium Lot West at 5 p.m. the day of the game. Vehicles not removed by 6 p.m. may be ticketed. The Litton-Reaves Lot (on Washington Street and Duck Pond Drive) is restricted to faculty/staff permit holders beginning BASKETBALL Basketball Practice Extension Lot at 5 p.m. No commuter, graduate, or resident permit holders PARKING Coliseum Lot (corner of Washington Street and are allowed in after 5 p.m. until the start of the game.
