RHP Fabio Castillo saw action as part of a split squad match up against the Royals on March 12 when he pitched 2.0 hitless innings and walked one. The 28-year-old split the 2016 season between the Padres and the Hanwa Eagles of the Korean Baseball Organization. RHP Steve Geltz continued his impressive spring on March 14 when he pitched 1.0 hitless inning and struck out one against the Reds. His spring numbers now stand at 5.0 innings, three hits, one run and five strikeouts.
