Following those comments, former VP of NFL officiating and current NFL on FOX rules analyst, Mike Pereira joined SiriusXM’s Mad Dog Radio earlier this week and dismissed Vick’s statement. “It actually took me back to my job in New York when I worked for the league and there were constant complaints by the Eagles, whether it was [Donovan] McNabb at QB or whether it was Vick. They clearly complained more than any other team,” said Pereira. Pereira went on to say that Vick’s style on the field leaves him vulnerable to getting hit more than other QB’s in the league. “He’s a quarterback that’s on the move; he is going to get hit more. Yes, there are a couple that may be missed but the idea that a ton of them are missed and that he’s hit late all the time is absurd.” BTN PREMIERES BIG TEN ICONS WITH HOST KEITH JACKSON – This fall, BTN will celebrate 12 iconic, legendary coaches who have defined excellence, both on and off the field, on BIG TEN ICONS. An icon himself, Keith Jackson hosts the series, which debuts with an episode on Michigan football coach Bo Schembechler on Saturday, Oct.1 (4:00 PM ET). The Schembechler episode includes new one-on- one interviews with Michigan historian John Bacon , former Wolverine standout Jamie Morris , Michigan athletic director and former player Dave Brandon and others. “I had the opportunity to play for the greatest football coach in the history of this country,” Morris says in the episode. “He didn’t just coach you in football, he coached you in life, he helped me grow up, he helped me grow up as a man and he instilled the things that I still believe in today.” Future episodes will feature Illinois’ Lou Henson , Indiana’s Bob Knight , Iowa’s Dan Gable , Michigan State’s Jud Heathcote , Minnesota’s Herb Brooks , Nebraska’s Tom Osborne , Northwestern’s Kelly Amonte-Hiller , Ohio State’s Woody Hayes , Penn State’s Joe Paterno , Purdue’s Gene Keady and Wisconsin’s Barry Alvarez . CHARLES DAVIS’ HEISMAN WATCH: BAYLOR’S ROBERT GRIFFIN III – Stanford quarterback and Heisman favorite Andrew Luck had a bye week this past weekend, giving other players a chance to take the spotlight. FX College Football analyst Charles Davis says to keep an eye on Baylor quarterback Robert Griffin III . “Robert Griffin III has been absolutely scintillating,” said Davis. “He gives you every dimension you want. This guy has 13 touchdown passes, only 12 incompletions on the year and he’s not just throwing strictly bubble screens and swings out of the backfield. The ball gets pushed downfield. Robert Griffin III is fantastic. The only problem he has in the Big 12 is will Baylor finish high enough to give him that ranking that people like to look for in a Heisman winner.” To view Davis’ complete Heisman watch analysis, click here: http://tinyurl.com/3owh9nr FOX SPORTS MEDIA GROUP WEEKEND COLLEGE FOOTBALL SCHEDULE *All Times Eastern DATE TIME GAME OUTLET Play by play Analyst Sideline Saturday, Oct. 1 12:00 PM Minnesota at Michigan BTN Eric Collins Chris Dionne Miller Martin Saturday, Oct. 1 12:00 PM Texas Tech at Kansas FSN Bill Land Dave Emily Jones Lapham Saturday, Oct. 1 3:30 PM Arizona at USC FSN Craig Joel Klatt Petros Papadakis Bolerjack Saturday, Oct. 1 7:00 PM Washington at Utah FSN Ron Thulin JC Pearson Jeremy Bloom Saturday, Oct. 1 7:00 PM Texas at Iowa State FX Gus Charles Tim Brewster Johnson Davis Saturday, Oct. 1 10:30 PM UCLA at Stanford FSN Joel Meyers Brian Jim Knox Baldinger BPL SOCCER RETURNS TO U.S. NETWORK TELEVISION THIS SUNDAY – Following the success of FOX’s broadcast of Barclays Premier League soccer alongside an NFL singleheader, FOX pairs the Arsenal-Tottenham match with NFL coverage again on Sunday, Oct. 2. Off the heels of a decisive 4-0 victory over Liverpool, Spurs are looking to continue their four-game streak with a win over North London rivals Arsenal.
