Moormore is situated just to the east of Coylumbridge within the renowned native Caledonian Pine Forest of Rothiemurchus and next to Glenmore Forest in the heart of the Cairngorm National Park. The area is well known for its stunning scenery, wildlife and range of outdoor pursuits that can be enjoyed in the area with Loch Morlich and Glenmore Lodge within walking distance and all interlinked by a fantastic network of walking and cycling tracks.

Description

Moormore occupies gently undulating ground with the most stunning view of the Cairngrorm Mountains from its raised position within the forest. The land was originally established with Scots pine in 1973 on moorland as a commercial conifer crop which was felled last year. Some seed trees were left, along with approximately 2.41 hectares of Scots pine as a long-term retention, located to the west of the property.

The felled land is approved for restocking by natural regeneration as the soil conditions are ideal for this type of management, whereby the surrounding forest and its associated species will cast seed onto Moormore to naturally regenerate given time. A Forest Plan has been approved to guide the purchaser on how to manage this unusual opportunity, which will not only create a future timber supply, but will also lock up carbon and provide a haven for the diverse range of wildlife found in Rothiemurchus. The lease is for forestry purposes only with no right to construct any dwellings on the land.
