festival events Record of Images in Algerian Film

Posters have long been a visual tool of politics. In the world of cinema, this medium is a static representation of a series of plans, plots, moving images, scripts and characters. This exhibition D is presented by Katara Art Center TFF as a companion to DTFF’s Tribute

2012 to Algeria programme. It explores the relationship between selected posters of key films that made Algerian film history, and stills from the films themselves. This frames the aesthetics of a socio-political context that has evolved through the years and reflects the thriving independent cinema that has been established in the region.
