To maintain the water-resistant and dust-resistant features of your device, make sure that the SIM card/Memory card tray openings are maintained free of dust and water, and the tray is securely inserted prior to any exposure to liquids. For more information, see Maintaining water and dust resistance on page 148. NOTE While charging, the device and the charger may become hot and stop charging. This usually does not affect the device’s lifespan or performance and is in the normal range of operation. Remove the device from the charger and wait for the device to cool down. For more information, visit samsung.com/us/support/answer/ANS00076952. 8 Getting started Wireless PowerShare Wirelessly charge your compatible Samsung devices using your phone. Some features are not available while sharing power. For best results when using Wireless PowerShare, please note: Remove any accessories or covers before using the feature. Depending on the type of accessory or cover, Wireless PowerShare may not work properly. The location of the wireless charging coil may vary by device, so you may need to adjust the placement to make a connection. When charging starts, a notification or vibration will occur, so the notification will help you know you have made a connection. Devices and software are constantly evolving — the illustrations you see here are for reference only. 9 Getting started Call reception or data services may be affected, depending on your network environment. Charging speed or efficiency can vary depending on device condition or surrounding environment. Do not use headphones. Only devices that support the wireless charging feature can be charged using this feature. Some devices may not be charged. To charge properly, do not move or use either device while charging. If the remaining battery power drops below a certain level, power drops below a certain level, power sharing will stop. 1. From Quick Settings, tap Wireless PowerShare. 2. With the phone face down, place the compatible device on the back of the phone to charge. A notification sound or vibration occurs when charging begins. NOTE Wireless PowerShare is limited to Samsung or other brand smartphones and accessories with WPC Qi wireless charging. Check samsung.com for compatibility. May not work with certain accessories, covers, or other brand devices. May affect call reception or data services depending on your network environment. Speed and power efficiency of charge varies by device. 10 Getting started Start using your device Use the Power key to turn your device on or off. Do not use the device if the body is cracked or broken. Use the device only after it has been repaired. ◌ Press and hold the Power key. • To turn the device off, press and hold the Power key, and tap Power off. Confirm when prompted. • To restart your device, press and hold the Power key, and tap Restart. Use the Setup Wizard The first time you turn your device on, the Setup Wizard guides you through the basics of setting up your device. Follow the prompts to choose a default language, connect to a Wi-Fi® network, set up accounts, choose location services, learn about your device’s features, and more. Transfer data from an old device Use Smart Switch™ to transfer contacts, photos, music, videos, messages, notes, calendars, and more from your old device.

If you don't have Touch ID setup yet, you'll be walked through registering your fingerprints. Next, use the camera viewfinder to scan in your card. Just center it in the frame and Apple Pay will grab all of the details, or you can enter them manually. Like with the other payment options, you'll need to verify your card using a text message or email code sent to you from your bank. Enter that and you're all set. To use Apple Pay while your phone is locked, just double tap the home button. It'll bring up your favorite debit or credit card, or you can select others at the bottom of the screen. Hold your finger to Touch ID as you tap the phone on an Apple Pay-approved reader. Google Pay Download Google Pay from the Google Play App Store. Open the app and tap "Add Credit or Debit card." You can choose cards already associated with your Google Account or add a new one. Agree to the terms and conditions that pop up. Then verify your card via email (you'll receive a number to enter into the app) That's it! Now, the next time you see a card reader with the Google Pay logo, just open the app, choose your card, and tap to pay. Samsung Pay is Samsung’s Mobile Wallet service that broadens the reach of mobile payments, by allowing HLEFCU MasterCard cardholders that enroll in the service to use compatible Samsung devices for everyday purchases at both contactless (NFC) and traditional magnetic stripe POS terminals. What devices are compatible with Samsung Pay? Samsung Pay is available to U.S. consumer on the Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 edge, Galaxy S6 edge+, Galaxy S6 active, Galaxy Note5, and later devices. Galaxy S6, S6 edge, S6 edge+ and Note5 devices require the user to download an app to use Samsung Pay, while later devices will come preloaded with the required app. To download the app, visit the Google Play™ store.
