Alberto Rossell-Davis began his 20 years with Aveda at the Aveda Experience Centers, working his way up to a management position. I’m a Native Texan. Grew up in Plano and live in Allen now. Couldn’t live in any other state because I love Texas too much. Although, I have been all over the world though. Started out doing hair in 2005 at the Paul Mitchell School in Carrollton, TX. Shortly after that I decided to join the U.S. Marine Corps. While in the Marines I went to Japan, Korea, North Carolina, California, and I did one tour to Afghanistan. Sarah began her journey with Aveda in South Florida as a color specialist. My journey with Aveda started in 2009 when I decided to attend the Aveda Institute of New Orleans. I gradu- ated in 2010 and worked behind the chair at an Aveda Concept salon in the heart of the French Quarter for 5 years. During that time I became a Certified Aveda Color Educator and really became interested in the education side of the industry. I took an educator position at the Aveda Institute New Orleans in 2015 and became the campus Educator Coach shortly after. My current position allows me to train and develop the educators, who then take the knowledge and share with the students. I love working with the students everyday and being apart of their journey early on with Aveda.

Steffan began his career in hair in 2007 as a student at the Aveda Institute in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. He joined Garbo A Salon and Spa in 2011 as a Master Stylist and Technical Director. He is also the Creative Director at Garbo, an Austin based Aveda salon and a ten-time recipient of Salon Today Top 200 Award. In 2012, Steffan joined the Aveda network as a Mentor Hair Color Educator for Neill. Gabriel (Gabo) Hernandez is originally from Venezuela and is based in Toronto, where he got his professional training at the Aveda Institute and Academy-graduating with Honors from both programs. He's a hard and dedicated worker with a lot of respect for his craft. As soon as he graduated, he was recruited for the Civello Salon Team and has been with the Aveda family since 2011. Gabo has become a highly-rated hairdresser by his clients. He has also had the pleasure to work closely with Kristjan Hayden (Aveda Creative Director) and with fashion designers like Greta Constantine, Pnina Tornai, Joseph Altuzarra, and Comrags. He was also published in Today's Parent (May 2014 for a makeover special) and in Binky Magazine (by styling Jessica Mulroney's hair for the cover). Gabo has also been part of many different shows: The Marilyn Denis TV show, Kleinfeld Canada Fashion Shows, Giller Prize 2014, TIFF, Toronto Fashion Week 2015, and the Canadian Screen Awards 2015. In 2017 Gabo joined the Civello Creative Team and Aveda Team Canada, expanding and sharing his creativity and teamwork. He was also named the 2017 Canadian Aveda Global Fashionista Winner. TRACY FREEMAN As an established hairstylist, colorist and educator, Tracy has been in the industry since 1993. She joined the Aveda network in 2000 becoming an educator with Aveda Fredrics Corporation. Presently she is at Square One Salon & Spa in Dayton, Ohio as a director stylist and mentor. In 2003, she began her position as an Aveda Purefessional™ in Hair Color and Texture. In addition to hair color, Tracy has an extensive background in texture hairstyling from relaxers, braiding, hair locking, bonding and weaving. With this skill set, she has become part of Aveda’s Texture Task Force, giving her opportunity to create a new Texture curriculum. Tracy's passion has led her stay on top of current trends and education in order to bring these ideas back into the salon. This allows her to keep guests and co-workers informed of what is going on in the network. In October 2004, she had the opportunity to style hair and apply makeup for Peter Jennings for the ABC Nightly News. RONNIE APPEL

Ronnie Appel, currently the Artistic Lead with The Salon People, has had a lifelong passion for the hair industry and its creative artists. In this role, Ronnie leads the creative direction and advanced education for the Florida Aveda Network. He is passionate about hair and is a creative hair stylist, dedicated educator and continues to hold the PurefessionalTM certification from Aveda. A big believer in hard work, Ronnie has always believed in the saying that “you get what you give.”

From birth, Ronnie was destined to become a hairstylist. From the time he could walk and hold a broom, he spent years sweeping hair for all the stylists in his mother’s salon, which ultimately became an Aveda salon. When he became old enough, he enthusiastically enrolled in the Aveda Institute. Through his education, he realized he had an extreme passion for cutting and styling hair. Ronnie began his career journey by joining Pyure Salon owned by Luca Boccia and Elan Levy, where he specialized in cutting, then quickly excelled to the position of Creative Director of a new Pyure Location in Boynton Beach, Florida.

He won the first National Educator Competition. To his delight, this led to him being invited to join the New York Fashion Week Team. Thereafter, his career included becoming the Director of Education for Fresh Talent and Creative Director for another Florida Aveda salon group. His family recruited him to assist with an import business, which was an offer that he thought he couldn’t refuse. As General Manager, he quickly mastered logistics, inventory, management and creativity in a very uncreative environment. He then launched his own online company, however, he realized that success without passion simply wasn’t worth it. Ronnie’s passion prevailed, and he is now the Artistic Lead for The Salon People, leading the company in their content development and all things hair. His passion is stronger than ever, and he has set his sights on becoming an intricate part of the North America Artistic Team.

Following in his family's footsteps, Austin attended Gary Manuel Aveda Institute in Seattle, WA after he graduated high school. He worked at his father’s salon, Jax Salon + Spa, for the next five years. Uninspired by hair, Austin began a new degree in aeronautical studies in hopes of becoming a flight tower controller one day. After attending Aveda Congress in 2011, he was inspired by the Artistic Team and realized his dream was to one day be on stage to inspire and educate other hairdressers. Within a year, he moved to New York and began his career over again as an assistant at Aveda West Broadway. On weekends, he volunteered his time supporting the Advanced Academy classes and directly training under Ricardo Dinis, Ian Michael Black, Lupe Voss and Allen Ruiz. While living in New York, he had the opportunity to assist on multiple photo shoots, including Aveda collections with the Artistic Team. Austin also freelanced for companies such as Refinery 29, creating how-to hair looks for current blog entries. He has also assisted and led his own teams during New York Fashion Week for the last ten seasons, including several corporate shows with Antoinette Beenders and Allen Ruiz.

Moving back home from New York, he has had the opportunity to work with his father before he retires, as well as became the Education Director at Jax Salon + Spa where he has created his own successful curriculum for incoming assistants. Upon graduating in 2011 from the Brown Aveda Institute in Cleveland Ohio, Patrick was chosen to participate in a workshop with Jon Reyman, cutting a live model and graduating on stage during Aveda Congress. Soon after graduating, Patrick attended numerous advanced classes with top artists from all over the world. After one year of working for Ladies and Gentlemen Salon in Cleveland, Patrick joined the Ladies and Gentlemen creative team at their salon location in Chicago. He worked closely with fellow stylists on numerous team shoots for NAHA, while also entering his own collections and styling hair in several fashion shows.

Having moved back to Cleveland, Patrick continues inspire and push limits while working for Ladies and Gentlemen as a Master Stylist. As his name rapidly grows in recognition, Patrick had the privilege of cutting a model on stage during Aveda Master Jam in Cleveland. Patrick strives to improve both himself and his peers by working closely with stylists and assistants in salons and schools, sharing knowledge he has gained from his experience and focusing on building a social media presence on multiple platforms where his featured work helps brings in a stream of new clients. Since the day she started in this industry, she knew Aveda was the path for her. She graduated from the Brown Aveda Institute and ever since has had the privilege of working at Bella Capelli Sanctuario an Aveda Salon and Spa in Westlake, Ohio. Currently, she specializes in styling along with men’s and short hair. Since she began her journey with Aveda, she has had the pleasure of being educated by and working alongside some of the top educators in our industry. As part of her path with the Aveda community, she has worked amongst incredible Aveda Artists as part of the New York and London Fashion Week styling teams, Cleveland and Washington D.C. Aveda Jams as well as Congress 2018. One of her largest accomplishments to date has been being recognized for her men’s styling as Aveda’s 2018 Men’s Best New Artist. Now moving into the next step of her journey, being an educator, she is more than humbled to announce she will be joining seven other phenomenal stylists as part of the North America Artistic Styling Team. Lydia began her career as an apprentice in an Aveda Lifestyle Salon, Salon Del Sol in Richmond, VA. She not only fell in love with hair, but also with the Aveda brand and everything it stood for. She has now been working with Aveda behind the chair for over eight years and educating for her salon’s apprenticeship program.

In the salon, she specializes in styling and coloring. Aveda is top of the line when it comes to education, and she has had the opportunity to take classes from and work alongside many of the best in our industry. It has been her privilege to be a part of the New York and London Fashion Week styling team, to work behind the scenes and on stage during Congress 2018, to perform at Cleveland and D.C. Aveda Jams, to win Best Stylist of the Year in Richmond 2018, and to now be a part of the North America Aveda Artistic Styling Team.

She feels extremely thankful to be an Aveda Artist and for all of the continual opportunities she has been given. It is her passion to continue making the same education and opportunities she has been given accessible to everyone.

Since graduating from the Aveda Institute Tucson in 2009, Anne Skubis has set an example of the diversity and success that being an AI graduate can bring. Upon graduating, Anne was immediately hired at her alma mater as an Experience Center Advisor. She quickly rose through the ranks at the Aveda Institute Tucson, fulfilling a wide variety of roles for the Inspire Greatness Aveda Institutes. Stimulating her passion for retailing, educating, and branding, Anne served as Experience Center Team Lead, Esthiology Educator and Team Lead, Mission Champion, Director of Marketing, and, as of 2018, Campus Director of the Aveda Institute Tucson.

As Director of Marketing for the Inspire Greatness Aveda Institutes, Anne has been a driving force behind branding the multi-campus organization to stimulate enrollments, services, and student engagement. In her tenure as DOM, all eligible campuses have received honors as Salon Today Top 200 Salons at least once, in addition to earning Salon Today’s Applied Marketing Program (S.T.A.M.P) of Approval and Modern Salon’s Excellence in Education for Technology and Culture. Anne has developed and implemented marketing strategies for social media, grassroots, promotional/transactional, and eventing. Through this role, Anne also has the unique ability to give back on a large scale, leading the charge for Inspire Greatness’ Aveda Earth Month and Breast Cancer Awareness Month campaigns, in addition to regular community outreach programs at each campus. Since 2014, the Inspire Greatness Aveda Institutes have donated over $300,000 to charitable organizations.

Anne’s love for education never diminished despite switching gears into a business focus. As an Aveda Makeup Pure-Fessional, Certified Makeup Coach, Aveda Freelance Artist, Anne spreads her love of Aveda Makeup to her students, team, network, and guests through specialized classes and events. Anne has assisted Aveda Global Artistic Director for Makeup, Janell Geason, on the team for multiple seasons of New York Fashion Week, and backstage at Master Jam Europe, NAHA, and Aveda Congress. Her editorial work is published both nationally and internationally. With the Inspire Greatness Creative Team, she mentors students as they work tirelessly to submit collections through the NAHA Experience workshop. Currently, as Campus Director at the Aveda Institute Tucson, Anne utilizes her status as a graduate to best serve her number one guest- her students. Being able to relate to their struggles and celebrations is a unique opportunity to motivate academics, attendance, and clinic floor benchmarks. Her journey from student to Purefessional™ to Director provides an example of how making the most of a beauty school education can impact the trajectory of a career. As a result of this journey, Anne was inducted into the Aveda Institute Hall of Fame in October 2018.

MARIA LIVINGOOD

Maria Livingood is a talented hair and makeup artist with a unique passion for education. Maria was born and raised in Cuenca, Ecuador. Her family moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota when she was 12. Maria speaks Spanish and English, and enjoys learning other languages and cultures. From a young age Maria has been described as extremely driven and a visionary. She knew hair and makeup was her passion and wasted no time. Only a few weeks after high school, she started attending the Aveda Institute in Minneapolis to pursue her dreams. While finishing cosmetology school, she worked and saved money to attend her first Aveda Runway Makeup Class. She attended her first New York Fashion Week when she was only 18. Over the span of five years, Maria has participated in eleven seasons of New York Fashion Week. This includes Women’s Fashion Week, Men’s Fashion Week and Bridal Fashion Week. During these five years, she developed a deep love for makeup, working under pressure and having her creativity challenged. Maria has helped lead multiple shows at New York Fashion Week. She enjoys working with a team of talented people in order to deliver amazing looks for some of the lead designers in the fashion industry.

Maria works full time at Juut Salon Spa in Roseville, MN. She is a Senior Color Specialist and Makeup Artist. When she’s not working, you can find her on set shooting editorial makeup looks, going on walks with her husband and Boston terrier, cooking dinners with family, or taking dance classes. Gianni began his makeup path as an Aveda freelance artist supporting salons in the Atlanta and North Carolina markets through in-salon makeup events. He then joined the Aveda Makeup Professional Team and found the desire to educate, coach and develop others who had a love for Aveda makeup. Brad originally completed a four year degree in exercise science and psychology, but sought to find a career path that embodied his personal vision on how he wanted to connect to the world and the people in it. It was during that time that he fell in love with Aveda because it aligned with his personal beliefs. He’s been with Aveda ever since!

Alicia’s mission is to use her life experience, leadership and passion for yoga, good food and compassionate consumerism to create a world where everyone feels empowered and inspired to live their best life and to love and be loved. After having a transformative Aveda spa experience in college, Alicia knew she would one day work for the brand. That day came in 2005 when Aveda Institute Denver opened and she joined the Experience Center team. Over the years she grew into a leadership role and has evolved herself and Inspire Greatness Aveda Institutes with influence in different roles, departments and projects. After completing Yoga Teacher Training in 2008 she decided to take time away from Aveda and focus on yoga and Ayurveda. She joined the management team at CorePower Yoga and facilitated teacher training and their Ayurvedic wellness program. In 2013 she returned to Aveda Institute Denver to develop more marketing and retail success. Craving more education and experience, she completed the esthiology program in 2017. Kristy Jantzi has been a spa educator for 13 years with Collega for Aveda Canada. She is experienced in supporting both the service industry and sales with an extensive background in product ingredients and service protocols. Kristy currently supports all education across Canada and helps with the development of new spa spaces. She started working with Aveda in 1997 in many different roles. She helped Aveda over the years by putting together magazine articles and social media support, and she also supported the organizing of Spa Connect in Canada, a large spa conference bringing spa therapists from across Canada to a retreat of learning and self-reflection. Kristy has a very strong passion for the spa industry and a love for education and inspiring others. She says, “There is nothing more rewarding than having the honor of working on guests every day and sharing my love for the services I provide, and making them feel beautiful on the inside and out."

Following in her mother’s footsteps, Allison pursued a career where holistic beauty was the focal point. She enrolled in the esthetics program at the Aveda Institute in Denver, Colorado where her love for this industry was ignited. After graduation, Allison pursued a career in the editorial world, working backstage at Denver Fashion Week, New York Fashion Week, and countless hair and makeup shows. Shortly after, she found herself longing to be back in education and started working for AID in a full time capacity. During her time on campus, Allison served in many roles from guest relations, education, and admissions. In addition to working at the Institute, she later decided to pick up working in a salon on top of that as she was then named the Spa Team Lead at an Aveda Lifestyle location, Glam at the Grove. Allison has had a multitude of opportunities to grow within Aveda and has dedicated her career to living the mission and educating those around her about our culture. She is a devoted Educator, Admissions Team Lead, Aveda Ambassador, and skincare enthusiast! Allison's primary goal is to connect beauty and education to inspire those around her.

AMANDA PURRINGTON

Amanda has a diverse background in esthetics; her experience extends from working on cruise ships as an international therapist to advanced training in London. She has also worked in the medical esthetics field, which she says has made her love for Aveda even deeper. She has now been working as Assistant Salon Director and Lead Esthetician at Salon K in Concord, NH for five years! What really distinguishes Amanda is her deep passion for continuing education and understanding of the skin and body and the factors affecting them on internal and external levels. She has undergone extensive Aveda training and is now also serving as an Aveda Ambassador in addition to her position on the North America Artistic Team. She truly believes that every opportunity presents a chance for learning and growing, and she hopes to inspire others to embrace that in classes, treatment rooms and in daily life!

For the past 11 years, Jude Richter has mastered several concepts of Aveda Spa. His wide range of experiences within the world of beauty have shaped him into a truly well-rounded expert of multiple subjects in esthiology and the art of spa. His range of knowledge and exuberance for teaching is what allows Jude to consistently execute his current role as an Aveda Skin Care Educator and Coach.

From 2014 on, he has been an Aveda Skin Care Educator, teaching students with expertise and pedagogical nuance built upon clear communicative abilities. As an educator, he has worked with students of all levels, from institutes to licensed professionals. His mission is to make the complexities of skin care accessible to any student seeking to better themselves in the Aveda network.

Jude now works on the Aveda North America Artistic Team helping to perfect a new educational experience for skin care, and inspiring Aveda Artists to reach their full potential.

Erica Treat is a graduate and alumna of the Aveda Institute Denver. She is extremely passionate about her leadership role as a skin care professional at Three Cutters in Denver. When not in the treatment room, you’ll find Erica working as a makeup artist at Fashion Week, on editorial photo shoots and at weddings. Her love for Aveda and its dedication to philanthropy inspires her to learn, grow and give back whenever possible.

Kali brings her passion for Aveda and a unique energy to each of her classes. She has been in the spa industry since 1998, working with Aveda since 2000. She has been teaching as a PurefessionalTM with Aveda since 2005 and joined the North America Artistic Team for Spa in May 2019. Kali is licensed in Esthetics and Massage Therapy, which rounds out her broad knowledge and hands-on experience. She loves the many roles that she performs within the Aveda Network. She excels in teaching product knowledge, skin care, relaxing waxing, massage therapy and body treatment theory and technique. Also, she coaches on how to manage challenges that arise with guests in and out of the treatment room as well as instructs how to build a clientele in the spa industry with Aveda. As an educator, Kali believes that learning never ends and should be fun. She brings her vibrant and welcoming personality to every class she teaches. Kali is currently Spa Director, Esthetician and Massage Therapist working at Blessings Salon Spa in the historical Fairhaven district of Bellingham, WA.

Alexzandra (Zandy) Rangel is an esthetician and massage therapist in Colorado Springs. She has been with Aveda for five years, and is an Aveda Institute Denver alumni where she graduated valedictorian for both programs. She’s an Aveda ambassador, skin nerd, energy worker, and is passionate about teaching innovation and creativity in the treatment room. She’s known for her “Aveda sheet masques” and bubbly personality. When she’s not in the treatment room, you’ll find her trying to find new ways to use Aveda products, brunching, globe trotting and taking adventures with her partner and their dogs!

With her motivational high-energy style, Zandy has a unique ability to empower and embolden her students. Motivational, inspirational and always approachable, Zandy’s education style is a refreshing approach that allows her to authentically connect and inspire her students.
