Touch Rugby Tournament Term 1 saw Maidstone Intermediate enter five teams into the local Upper Hutt Total Touch Competition. There were some awesome tries and outstanding defence. Well done to all of our teams and coaches. We had some great results with the Marlins as runners up in the boys’ grade, and the Thunder winning the girls’ grade. A special mention to our girls teams, the Thunder and Lightning. This was the first time Maidstone has ever had two girls teams! Mr Hinton Rugby Sevens Tournament The WRISSA Sevens Tournament was held on April 15 in Petone. It was a great day with lots of awesome performances. Our teams had a mixed day, with the Under 60kg and Open Weight teams having a few wins and a few loses. The girls had a strong day with wins over Brandon and Avalon Intermediates. All of the teams improved immensely over the tournament, especially the girls’ team of which many had never played before! Well done to all those who took part!
